Adventures Around Acapulco: Hecho en Acapulco Brand at Verde Pistache

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

So I walked into Verde Pistache (Verde Vegan's co-owned co-op featuring organic products of all kinds as well as local ones) recently to notice a good part of the store is currently devoted to this new and honestly awesome brand Hecho en Acapulco. For those who aren't aware, just like MADE IN USA is big in the states Hecho en Mexico is big here and honestly I think it suits Mexico better because this is still very much a country of producers.

At Verde Pistache you can find things ranging from shirts to hats to pins all themed in this cool brand. There are these soaps made by a local artisan soap maker that they've partnered with to help spread the brand as well as his product. It's a way to remind people quality stuff is made here in Acapulco.

They make these AWESOME videos to advertise the brand and the products featured, like one for this soap maker that was SO good. Click soap maker to see it, worth the watch. The idea is to show Acapulco and it's hardworking people in the light it deserves. The soap above was coconut vanilla and it smells SO good.

The designs on the shirts and pins all come from a local designer, who if I remember correctly is one of the main pioneers of this brand. I love the idea and plan on putting some Hecho en Acapulco's on my glass pieces at the very least, so stay tuned for possible partnerships there!

Well hey there, I think I've got an idea!

Meaning I know damn well who this is, I'll send you an email.

This just pumps me up so much. My partner and a friend quit our jobs and are coming to Mexico in 5 weeks to the Yucatan for a month than to Acapulco hopefully for a long time. We were going to wait to save more money but after the video with Jeff Berwick, we decided to take the leap. Looks like Acapulco's changed since I last was there. I love all your posts.

Hey this is exciting to hear! Good to hear you've considered the advice, we wish we would have left earlier when we had so much more.

Hey do you currently sell any glassware? Would definitely pay crypto for a pipe!

I've shipped to the states *not sure if you're there but possibly assuming haha) before with decent results but it costs a lot to ship, often as much as the piece or more. If that's something you're willing to deal with I'd be interested, just be aware I can only commit to color combinations and general designs as I'm still learning lol.

It'd be dope though and I'd write a post about it.

Canada actually! If it is too much to ship my partner are going to Archopulco in February, so we can always pick up then!

That's a great option. Traveling with glass is so common, especially to canada so you'll have no issues. Regardless, I'm still stoked for the idea. :)

Contact information for further discussion on this?

I'm also on a bunch of steemit discord channels.

Also, Vagabond was shipping glass from Puerto Vallarta to Canada all last winter, it probably isn't terrible.
