I got up at 03:30 today to see a sunrise. Of course, after the sun rises very early, you also have to leave early to be able to take a picture of a sunrise. This is especially true if you want to see the sunrise on a mountain. |
Ich bin heute um 03:30 Uhr aufgestanden, um einen Sonnenaufgang zu sehen. Nachdem die Sonne jetzt schon sehr früh aufgeht, muss man natürlich auch früher los, um einen Sonnenaufgang fotografieren zu können. Das gilt vor allem, wenn man den Sonnenaufgang auf einem Berg sehen will. |

So I got up at 03:30 clock, drove to Villach and then on the Dobratsch mountain. Snow was still abundant on the mountain, but the trail was pretty clear and hard frozen, so I could walk easily. | Ich bin also um 03:30 Uhr aufgestanden, nach Villach und dann auf den Dobratsch gefahren. Schnee war am Berg noch genug vorhanden, aber der Weg war ziemlich frei und hart gefroren, das Gehen war kein Problem. |

Unfortunately, there were no clouds again, but the slightly pastel gradient in the sky made the sunrise look beautiful anyway. The colors were actually even more intense than can be seen in the photos. | Leider gab es wieder einmal keine Wolken, aber der leicht pastellige Farbverlauf am Himmel ließ den Sonnenaufgang trotzdem wunderschön aussehen. Die Farben waren eigentlich noch intensiver als auf den Fotos zu sehen ist. |

I haven't been up on this mountain for a few weeks and I didn't think, that there is still so much snow left.
Most of the snow will be on it's way towards us here downstream the rivers😁. Next we will be there again for the snow.

But the water evaporates, becomes clouds, and the clouds move north, snowing in the Netherlands in winter :)
With all the snow over here in winter, must be very little water that evaporates. Just enough for one day of total chaos when there is 5 cm of snow fall.
In some cities over here it is enough when the weather forecast says, that it might be snowing, to produce a traffic chaos ;)

Thats dedication to get up that early but well worth it to get this amazing view as the sun was rising

Good morning JJ, yes, it is worth to get up so early, but 3:30 was nearly too late, because when the sun rose I haven't been as high up as I wanted ;)
But beeing up there alone was a great feeling, because I can share everything here on Steemit with you :)
You still go high enough for wonderful if you had to get up any earlier it may be easier to stay up all night lol 😂

That’s another option of course, luckily where i live its only a 10 MInute drive to my favorite beaches for sunrise :)
... and you certainly don't have to hike for about 1 1/2 hours up a mountain then, I assume ;)
NOt at all, but if I do an early morning beach visit I also Roy and gets steps in so I walk for a couple of miles up and down the beach between before or after taking photos

The weather is getting bad again here. I had planned a sunset photo for today, but it shows more of an upcoming storm than a sunset.
