Computer dead - what now?
I am sitting here beside the road on a small mountain near the village Diex (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diex), and wait for the Sunset, which should begin at about 8:15pm.
Why am I here?
Because Bahbahra said "Stop and smell the roses" (https://steemit.com/beautifulsunday/@tattoodjay/stop-and-smell-the-roses).
And the story is this:
This morning at about 4:30 I went for a nice walk at the reservoir. Of course, I have made some photos, but not this one.
Unfortunately, I do not know, if the photos are any good, because when I came home I turned the Computer on, which then said, it would "repair" itself, and after a while repairing was finished and the Computer was dead.
I cannot use any program, I cannot reset or repair nor can I make a clean Windows installation - nothing works.
I tried the whole day long repairing, until I read @tattoodjays's post with Bahbahra, who told me to stop and see, what's beautiful around, and that the Computer can wait.
Although my fingers hurt now from typing on the phone's keyboard, I'm feeling good and there will be a solution tomorrow ... it's only a Computer :)
The first photo is from yesterday's sunset near the place where I am now, and the second one is from now, edited with my phone, because my Computer is dead, as you might know ;)
So, now copy and paste the footer, and the Sunset can begin 😄

Ohh no sorry sorry to hear your computer is givign you isees, I know whow frustrating that can be , and glad Bahbahras poost gave you some thought and a break from the stress, I hope when you get back to your computer it decides to play nice with you

Bahbahra saved me from my frustration. She is no simple fridge magnet, she is great, because she knew already, that I would need such words to shut down and forget the computer for a while, and she was so right 😊
The computer is still not working, but I have the whole day to decide, whether I will put a new harddrive in and reinstall all software, or if I buy a new one and reinstall all software ... or if I just take my son's unused computer 😈

Beautiful images. I never would have guessed that you edited them on your phone. Like @maxsieg, I use Ubuntu but, whatever way you go, I hope your computer issues will quickly be forgotten.

I'm a Windows Fan, and my PC will run on Windows again tomorrow. Linux and Ubuntu... are just not my world, sorry.

That's right, and Windows fits me, thank you very much @kunschj :)
I am using Windows since the beginning of the nineties (all versions apart from Windows 8), and I do know, that in most cases, when Windows produces errors or crashes, the causer sits right in front of the monitor.
You don't want to know, how often I have heard the sentence "I didn't do anything, Windows crashed on its own" over the years.

Beautiful photos and so sorry to hear about your technical difficulties. That's the pits. I really think I need to learn how to take apart and rebuild those things. Think of the power:)
Thank you so much Pryde, and the problems are nearly solved. Now I am waiting for Lightroom to import the images. Then I can search and edit photos for my next post this evening.

install linux.. remove windows... that surely fixes your computer...
I know, and I have tried several Linux distributions over the years, but I have always come back to Windows, but thank you 😁 I think it is the SSD, which was a very cheap one.

y go back to windows? i tried many but then im happy with ubuntu... its light enough and has working drivers... my windows does not have the working drivers for my 6 yo comptuer and is too heavy for only 2 cores... its a night mare to program in windows... its like the most common one with the most stuff working on it... ubuntu18 now is no more with the horrible unity bar but is gnome... and thing is if u have multiple operating systems on ur computer, if one screws up u can fix it from another operating system...
alternatively use a raspberry pi? its easy to switch out storage (micro SD) and attach SSD and increase RAM (swap partition) ... i hope to do that soon once im done with my current project... raspberry pis are easy as pi
the support blogs on askubuntu and raspberry pi are also very good and answer questions fast or have a lot of answered questions on it...
I don't think, Adobe Photoshop would run on a Raspberry Pi 🤔
Does the Adobe Software work on Ubuntu? I don't know, but it works with Windows, and I wouldn't want to change to another Software.
For the past 25 years I haven't had any problems with Windows, from 3.1 to 10 (didn't use 8), they all worked fine, and only once I have had a driver problem with an USB printer, but this could be fixed in no time.
My Computer will run fine again tomorrow - with Windows 10 pro 😁

y need adobe photoshop if u have giphy? free and as good? and pdf editor use okular... i used to like windows for a long time too but then 8, 8.1 and 10 came and then nevermind windows...
I know, there is free Software, which can do the same or even better, for Windows too, but I like Lightroom and Photoshop, what can I say? It's the same as with Windows, I'm using Adobe for ages 😊
I hated Windows 8, but in my opinion Windows 10 is great. What means one problem in many years? Nothing 😎

Adobe does not support any OS except for Windows and MacOS. I like Ubuntu and run it on a separate computer, but, won't give up my windows. :)
I disliked 8 and skipped it completely but am happy with 10... Sorry to hear about your computer, but, as you said, it is only a computer and there is still life out there!

you are finally someone who agrees with me, at least in part, because I have windows run on all devices of our family, and also at work. I like to have the same environment on every device.
I have been very sad, when Microsoft didn't continue Windows Phone and I had to switch to Android after my Windows Phone broke.
I could no't work smoothly, when I had different OS on the devices. Maybe I should install Ubuntu on all computers - my kids would kill me ;)

Good for you for overcoming your frustration and irritation sir johannpiber! At least I think that's what you did. Because you decided to not let the broken computer get you down. But now what, you have to buy another one? from China? lol.
Yes, @janton, I tried all day long different methods to get the Computer running, but nothing seemed to work. I have never had such a problem before, and this has frustrated me somehow, but then I read the words of Bahbahra, and everything was good 😊
I don't know yet, what to to, because I am at work, and here I have my laptop, which works fine. Maybe I'll use it for a while at home to have some time for repairing the Computer or to search for a new one. I'll decide during the day.

No @janton, it is also my private Computer, but during the week I have it at my office desk, and I take it only with me when we go for holidays or somewhere, where I might need a Computer.

Ok well at least you aren't without a computer so you can still do posts and process photos and such. And you have backups so your photo archives are safe.

Yes, this is not the only computer. I could also use the computers of my kids, but they don't have my software for image editing installed. So, I would have to install the software first, what I don't want to do, because they have their own software, which I don't use.
Did you ever get that thing running sir johann or did you already write about it?
I have bought a new old computer, which is running fine now. I have made my first post yesterday.
I will repair the old one when I have time, and use it somewhere else.
