Oriental Lily Stargazer *** Lirio Oriental Stargazer

Today I bring you other pictures I took during my trip to Colonia Tovar. As I have already mentioned in other opportunities, this is a beautiful town founded in 1843 by a group of German immigrants, from the then independent state of Baden, is located in the state Aragua, Venezuela, at a height of almost 2000 meters above the sea level, therefore, has a delicious temperate climate.
The photographs that I share with you today correspond to an Oriental Stargazer Lily, this is a beautiful and elegant flower belong to the Lilium genus, being one of the best-known varieties of a hybrid species product of the cross between the Japanese lilies, lilium auratum and lilium speciosum, made in 1869 by the American horticulturist Francis Parkman.
These exotic and beautiful flowers are widely used for ornamental purposes, not only for their showy and large flowers, which emerge from their stems in groups of 3 to 5 inflorescences, each measuring up to 12 inches wide (30, 48 cm), but also give off an exquisite fragrance, especially at night.

Hoy les traigo otras de las fotografías que tome durante mi viaje a la Colonia Tovar. Como ya les he comentado en otras oportunidades, este es un hermoso pueblito fundado en 1843 por un grupo de inmigrantes alemanes, provenientes del entonces independiente estado de Baden, se encuentra ubicado en el estado Aragua, Venezuela, a una altura de casi 2000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, por ello, posee un delicioso clima templado.
Las fotografías que hoy comparto con ustedes corresponden a un Lirio Oriental Stargazer, esta es una hermosa y elegante flor pertenecen al género de Lilium, siendo una de las variedades más conocidas de una especie híbrida producto del cruze entre los lirios japoneses, lilium auratum y lilium speciosum, realizada en 1869 por el horticultor estadounidense Francis Parkman.
Estas exóticas y bellas flores, son muy utilizadas con fines ornamentales, no solo, por sus vistosas y grandes flores, que emergen de sus tallos en grupos de 3 a 5 inflorescencias, pudiendo llegar a medir cada una, hasta 12 pulgadas de ancho (30,48 cm), sino que, además, despiden una exquisita fragancia, especialmente de noche.
Las fotografías fueron tomadas con mi cámara Pentax *ist DL, con un lente Pentax 18-55 e iluminación natural.
