Abandoned typography

in #photography6 years ago

The history of this company is quite tragic. Once the largest printing company in the Volga region for about eight years is in an abandoned state. All machines and equipment have long been taken out, in empty workshops only rubbish and residues of products.

Samara Printing House was commissioned in 1964. The building was built on a large scale - large buildings, warehouses, and more. In Soviet times, its owner was officially considered the regional committee of the CPSU. The offices of the Press House housed the editorial offices of many large newspapers in the city of Kuibyshev, all local and federal publications, as well as social, political, artistic, scientific and educational literature, advertising and commercial printed materials were produced on its equipment. The company employed over 1,000 people.

In the post-perestroika period, the building was under the jurisdiction of regional state structures, but in the middle of the 2000s it was suddenly privatized. Around the same time, the company started to have financial problems and debts. To solve this problem, the management began to rent out the premises, but soon all the tenants left, and a final ruin ensued.

In the spring of 2008, part of the property complex "Samara Printing House" was bought out from the owner. After that, as a result of a chain of commercial transactions, assets were transferred from one firm to another. There was a conflict between the old and the new owners, which resulted in legal proceedings. This story of privatization and the subsequent multiple resale of the House of Printing has received a wide public response.

In early 2009, "Samara House of Printing" completely ceased to function as a printing company. All the equipment was taken out of the building, the former editorial and printing corps began to deteriorate rapidly.

During the years of work at the enterprise, many popular publications were printed - Kommersant, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Sport-Express, Izvestia, Moskovsky Komsomolets, Reporter, Volga Commune, Vedomosti, Arguments and Facts "," Time "," Samara Review "," Samara Advisor "and" Samara News ".

Then the courts began. About four years of struggle and forensic examination, which showed that a building sold for 50 million costs 1.2 billion rubles. In 2013, by the decision of the Volga Arbitration Court, the building of the House of Press returned to state ownership. Now it belongs to Rosnedvizhimost.

In the autumn of 2015, there was a major fire, which experts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations unequivocally qualified as arson. The building has completely burned out the roof in the main building.

In February last year, the property of the Press House was put up for auction for 646 million rubles. The winner of the auction was a company from Ulyanovsk.

So many abandon places. I wonder why someone would buy it in the condition that it is in and then do nothing to it. Kind of messy :) I would not like to be the one that had to clean that up. ha ha

Most likely, this building was bought to build something else in its place. The place where this house is located is quite attractive for developers.

I wondered about that and it makes perfect sense.
