12 IMAGES ! - Death & Nature-The cycle of life. A collection of pictures from our walk along the coastal path after a funeral this morning. Wales is such a beautiful place.

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

This morning my brothers were bearers at my grandfathers funeral. Not only is it difficult to deal with a passing of a family member, it is even more difficult when there are complicated family politics involved that can't even be left aside for one day. After a draining emotional morning, I suggested the three of us take a nice long walk on the coastal path to just reflect, and re-charge. It worked wonders, we laughed and joked and admired the beauty and just felt so much better after spending some time sitting by the waterfall. Nature truly does have some weird way of taking away our worries and putting us at ease.

These pictures are unfiltered and un-edited, taken using the HDR setting on my phone. One or two are from my brothers phone, I just selected some of the best ones. The location West Wales.

My brothers and I :)

This is called crocodile's head, because it looks like a crocodile, and this is where the walk along the cliff path starts.

About half way across you reach Ogof (Welsh word for cave). It's a popular jumping spot, you can see a group of teenagers on the top, they had taken a pause as we went by so I couldn't take any action shots.

Looking over the edge of the cliff.

Destination now in sight, we're heading for the waterfall. It clouded over briefly so this one is a bit dull.

Stopped at the pub for a drink and some sweet potato fries.

Crossing the beach to reach the waterfall we saw lots of dead jelly fish :(

Climbing over the rocks to get to the waterfall.

Stopped for a Selfie. As you can tell we're selfie masters!

You have reached your destination, please make sure you take all your belongings with you.

Managed to pounce on some unsuspecting stranger to take a picture for us. I love this shot, we we're trying to pose but this is mid laughter and it just so authentic. Well done stranger!

Another attempt at a selfie, this was taken on my brothers phone and has got some sort of filter on it. Rarely all three of us are together anymore, and on days like today we're reminded how close a bond we share and will always be there to support one another through life's trials and tribulations.

Thanks for reading.

Loved it! Nice pictures :)

Thanks @yiyi.maiola, I think you'd love Wales, so much natural beauty here, I wasn't lucky enough to spot any of that walk, but this time of year there are tonnes of dolphins around :)

you deserve much more attention...well presented and lovely pictures!

Hiya, @tremendospercy is trying to build up #teamGB to rival #teamaustralia. I am helping him find Brits . If you would like to know more check out this link: https://steemit.com/steemwars/@tremendospercy/teamgb-members-update-countdown-to-steemwars-and-a-roasting-of-the-other-teams

I should mention as well there is a teamGB room within the Minnow Support Project @minnowsupport on discord if you would like to meet some others. https://discord.gg/HYj4yvw.

@choogirl once I figure out how on earth to use discord I will jump on board. Ive downloaded it but that's about as far as I can figure out for now.

Lol. No problem. There are a bunch of chat rooms in the Minnow Support Project. Start with general (where the most action is) or TeamGB to say to people. You can obviously say hi to the Aussies or anyone else as well. I'm kinda bored at the moment so I am in there to pass some time.

The TeamGB/Team Aussie thing is nothing serious. Just a way to build relationships and have some fun really.

It's always tough to be caught up in death (which is obviously the opposite to life and is in no way natural.. since 'natural' refers to birth). I am glad that you found some space to clear the energies a bit, the passing of relatives always triggers unprocessed karmic entanglements and stored/denied emotions.
thanks for sharing the beautiful photos - i have visited wales a few times and have ancestors from there - I would name some names, but .. well.. they're welsh and I never mastered that language ;)

Thank you @ura-soul :). Oh that's amazing, where are you from it doesn't say on your page, nothing amuses me more than non Welsh speakers trying to pronounce Welsh words and there are some ridiculous words in the language, for example, jelly fish = pysgod wibl wobl. Literally translating to wobbly fish.

Well, I like to remind people that the nations are from us and we are not from nations.. But to answer your question in the way that you intended it, I was born in Essex, England in this lifetime and presently my home is in Norfolk. My mother's mother traced her ancestors back to Wales - but I don't know the full details. I think my Dad's Granddad or maybe Great Granddad lived on Anglesey his whole life too.
haha - that's the first and last time that wibl wobl will be incorporated into a national language.. Maybe I will learn Welsh afterall, it is clearly a very silly language indeed! :)

hmm.. my welsh instructor tells me that jellyfish is: psygod jeli and that possibly you are just pulling my wibl wobl. lol.
he says to ask if you are having some sglodion with that fish.. hehe

I am not pulling your wible wobl. It's what we use in the west, the north actually have a far worse word for it which I am not going to write on here, I'm sure google will find it for you :)
I had some sglodion tonight.

Not sure what part of Wales your tutor is from, but there are many phrases and saying that are area specific, North and West are the main chunks of remaining Welsh speakers, and there are huge differences in dialect and more again as you go east into the Vallyes.

You may find this amusing :) I personally use 90% of these.

Oh ok - I thought maybe it was a dialect thing, thanks for clarifying. Thanks for the link too, at least I can feel I have accomplished the spreading of the welsh language by referring to my friends as being as useful as a fart in a jam pot (in English) :))
