Forest gems of WW2 - One man bunker.
Exploring the local forest in search for new interesting relics of WW2 i've encountered these - single soldier guard bunkers. There is not much of these left in Poland. Official german name for it was ''ein mann bunker splitterschutzbauten'', but for Poles it's simply ''the pencil''.
Here is the technical drawing of the bunker (source: schrony.eu.)
and that's how it looked standing (source: wikipedia)
This grouping of the remaining 'pencils' from the area is possibly gathered there by staff of the near-by in-the-middle-of-the-forest museum http://www.exploseum.pl/ started there by local enthusiasts just a few years ago. So there is a chance, that these unique constructions will become one day an open-air exhibition, as most of the buildings of remaining 'Dag Fabrik Bromberg' will be demolished soon by developers. So maybe that's the last chance to see some of the Nazi Germans' military projects around here - and i'm going to present some more in upcoming posts.

Hope you've enjoyed :) More WW2 forest gems on the way!
It was a terrible time in our history and yet we still haven't stopped war
Wow. That's some really old stuff you got there... This is my first time to see a photo of something from WW2
Your discovery is interesting and surprising. This motivates to continue investigating objects of great value that today have been modified by technological changes.
