Forest gems of WW2 - 'Abandoned Shit Weekly' №.10 Entry - 23 photos.
Enemy positions overtaken by nature!
Forests of Poland still hold some of the WW2 mysteries like bunkers and other destination buildings.
What is presented here are the remnants of 3 different objects built by Nazi Germans in the time of occupation of Poland.
These photos were taken on the trip to the forest surrounding city of Bydgoszcz in North Poland.
Enjoy :)
- First are the remainings of the bunker near the forest road that leaded to the 'DAG Fabrik Bromberg' which was the munitions and chemicals factory complex. Seems to be an outpost monitoring the in and out transports.
- Next one is the bulding of unknown destination. As the whole documentation of this complex was destroyed by fleeing Germans in 1945, one may only guesss what could be the purpose of this structure. Dug into the ground and surrounded by anti-blast walls and shrubs and trees growing on the roof, one wonders.
- And lastly - civil defence shelter for the labor camp that was situated near-by. It would be long gone like ones next to it due to developers but some nature-protection community prevented it campaigning for wildlife, as these are the places where some fauna species are spending the winter. While exploring interiors, i've ecountered sleeping butterflies hanging off the ceiling. One may say that i could take those photos only thanks to them :)
And that's all for now, hope you enjoyed it.
More exploration trips coming soon, stay tuned :)
This is great article with great pictures?
Did you know that Hitler had bunker in Poland where he had best equipment of this time. Also, he made this bunker to hide there if he lose the war. It was called Wolf's Lair.
Thanks & yes, i'm briefly aware of that, yet the most mysterious construction project undertaken by Nazis on the territory of Poland thou was the 'Riese Project' in Lower Silesia. Medical experiments by Lebensborn, werewolfs, Thule And Ahnenerbe occultism, uranium enrichment and secret anti gravity projects- all those subjects meets there!
WOW....amazing scary creepy bunkers at first i thought they were tombs till i got further down the page awesome photos a great find :)
Thank you, some more photo-sets from the area on the way in coming days.
Great will be looking forward to seeing some more ...cheers :)
