Icicles on cedar hedge
Some photos I took on a snowy day near the end of winter. The slightly dripping icicles had a dramatic appearance.
I'm disappointed with how the photos turned out, I should have reduced the aperture, so more of the icicles would be in focus. I often make the mistake of aiming for a stronger bokeh, when a bigger depth of field would have served the subject better. Plus a smaller aperture would have made the photos slightly sharper. And it might have been better to tilt my camera so the icicles would have made straight vertical lines (even though they were oblique in reality, as the hedge was weighted forward by snow).
I used a Sony a77 camera and a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens (which is the one I use 80% of the time). Modified them in Adobe Lightroom, ie to add vignetting, clarity and contrast.

The first photos are wonderful! I liked the ice effect on the tree
