White Mountains by Night
Here's a picture I took of some of the White Mountains after the sun went down. I was hoping to do some astrophotography while I was there, but turns out the moon was super bright during my week there, so the starts ended up being pretty washed out. I did stop off at a roadside lookout one night and take this after it was dark. While it would have been cool to have darker skies for some milky way shots, moonlit landscapes can look pretty cool and interesting (see this post by @aweber for my favorite example of moonlit landscapes).
I think the bright planet to the left of the sky is Venus, but I'm not positive! Whatever it is, it's poppin'.

Nice. Do you know why they are called the white mountains?
I don't! They were not living up to their name while I was there, but I would imagine that they're fairly snowy in the winter, so maybe that's why?
Steemit super quiet at the moment
Haha that's for sure! Almost feels like a ghost town!
I can dig it! Always a fan of some nice converging layers.
Also, great detective work digging up that old post! #honored
Thanks man! Me too, it was fun to actually be in a place with cool layers like that for once!
Haha thanks, took me way too long to find it lolol

The proximity between humans and nature can save the world. Whenever people adopt nature, then they become very close people of nature, land or tree. And whenever people turn away from nature, they bring their own destruction, as well as the world.
Well said, nature can be such a positive in people's lives.
