Exploring Vietnam's ABANDONED WATERPARK [EN/DE]

Hello guys! Today I want to tell you about a unique, abandoned place that I visited a few days ago. It's Vietnam's abandoned water park near the city of Hue.

Hallo Leute, heute möchte ich euch von einem einzigartigen, verlassenen Ort erzählen, den ich vor einigen Tagen besuchte. Es handelt sich dabei um Vietnams verlassenen Wasserpark nahe der Stadt Hue.

As the park is closed down, it is of course not an official tourist attraction. One can only arrive either with a rented motorbike or by taxi. I decided for the second variant.

Da der Park stillgelegt ist, stellt er natürlich keine offizielle Touristenattraktion dar. Man kann nur entweder mit einem gemieteten Motorrad anreisen oder sich per Taxi hinbringen lassen. Ich entschied mich für die zweite Variante.

The water park is situated in the middle of the forest, on a rather large lake, approx. 10 km outside Hue. This remoteness makes the place even more creepy than it already is.

Der Wasserpark liegt mitten im Wald, an einem ziemlich großen See, ca. 10 km außerhalb von Hue. Diese Abgelegenheit lässt den Ort noch gruseliger wirken, als er ohnehin schon ist.

Instead of crystal-clear, blue water, a dark, stinking broth is found in the individual basins. Dirt, rust and garbage dominate the appearance of the park. You can also see how it gets slowly overgrown by the spreading vegetation.

In den einzelnen Becken befindet sich statt kristallklarem, blauen Wasser, eine dunkle, stinkende Brühe. Dreck, Rost und Müll dominieren das Erscheinungsbild des Parks. Außerdem merkt man, wie er langsam von der sich ausbreitenden Vegetation überwuchert wird.

Nobody really knows why the water park was closed in 2004. Probably the operators simply ran out of money.

Warum der Wasserpark im Jahr 2004 geschlossen wurde weiß eigentlich niemand genau. Vermutlich ging den Betreibern einfach das Geld aus.

You can climb the tower where the individual slides start. I even sat down in the starting position and imagined what it must have been like when the park was still in use.

Man kann den Turm besteigen, an dem die einzelnen Rutschen starten. Ich setzte mich sogar in mal in die Startposition und stellte mir vor, wie es wohl damals gewesen sein muss, als der Park noch in Betrieb war.

Not far from the slides there is a huge, accessible dragon statue, which is located in the middle of the lake and can be reached via three bridges.

Nicht weit von den Rutschen findet man eine riesige, begehbare Drachenstatue, die in der Mitte des Sees liegt und über drei Brücken erreichbar ist.

Inside there was an exhibition about different animals that live in the water. This can be noticed by the sculptures, which are still quite well preserved, and a dark room with numerous destroyed aquariums.

Im Inneren gab es mal eine Ausstellung über verschiedene Tiere, die im Wasser leben. Das merkt man an den teilweise noch recht gut erhaltenen Skulpturen und einem dunklen Raum mit zahlreichen zerstörten Aquarien.

This room is probably the scariest part of the whole park because it is so dark. There is broken glass everywhere. Because of all the rubbish you should wear closed shoes in the whole area.

Dieser Raum ist wohl der gruseligste Teil des gesamten Parks, da er so dunkel ist. Überall liegt zerbrochenes Glas. Wegen dem vielen Unrat sollte man auf jeden Fall im gesamten Gelände geschlossene Schuhe tragen.

By a spiral staircase, one can even get into the mouth of the dragon and enjoy a beautiful view. However, every step is at your own risk!

Über eine Wendeltreppe gelangt man sogar in das Maul des Drachens und kann dort eine schöne Aussicht genießen. Natürlich passiert hier jedoch jeder Schritt auf eigene Gefahr!

I'm so glad I visited this unique, creepy place. In between, I felt like I was in a post-apocalyptic movie or video game! If you are in the neighborhood and dare to visit this place, you should come and have a look!

Ich bin so froh, dass ich diesen einzigartigen, gruseligen Ort besucht habe. Zwischendurch fühlte ich mich wie in einem postapokalyptischen Film oder Videospiel! Schaut hier unbedingt mal vorbei, wenn ihr in der Nähe seid und euch traut!
