Lower/Upper Chedoke Waterfalls
In my last post I was unhappy that the weather man was wrong about a storm coming in, but things turned out great with some nice sunset photos. This morning I woke up very early and it was very foggy out. So I started to brainstorm on what I could shoot with the fog. After considering a few ideas, I decided on Chedoke waterfalls. Sunrise, waterfalls and fog how could that go wrong? I checked the weather network and it said fog with 0% visibility until 8 a.m.
Surprise surprise the weather man was wrong again! The fog completely lifted about 45 minutes before sunrise, but once again I was already there. So I stuck to the plan.
I hit the trail and in a very short amount of time, arrived at Lower Chedoke falls.
Waterfall Classification: Curtain Cascade
Height: 6 metres (20 feet)
Crest Width: 11 metres (36 feet)
Along the way to Lower Chedoke falls are a handful of smaller waterfalls surrounded by red clay walls.
I climbed up the rock face beside the waterfall and continued to follow the stream. Taking in the beauty of the valley.
It is a fairly short hike between the two waterfalls and in no time. I was at the Upper Chedoke falls.
Waterfall Classification: Ribbon
Height: 18 metres (60 feet)
Crest Width: 9 metres (30 feet)
Once again despite the weather man being wrong. I had a great time and am fairly happy with the shots that I got. The Chedoke falls are located in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) and if you are ever in the area. I highly recommend a visit to them!
A nice place
