Monumental March: Wanna BE Audacious With Me?
A few days ago I wrote about making the choice to be in or out. I ended it with declaring definitively that I am ALL in. I was talking specifically about being an artist. And I meant it. I have the body of work and the daily habits to prove it.
But here’s the thing: I’m not consistently making a living. I’m not fully paying my bills with my photos, my art, my writing, or any of my other creative endeavors. I see other people doing so. Some of them are impossibly talented. But many of them are simply...well...out there. Pushing their mediocre products in impossibly ingenious ways.
Don’t get me wrong; I love what I do. I’d do it for free! Hell, I often do. And that’s never going to change. But if I’m going to have the audacity to say that I’m all in, I really need to be ALL IN! I need to put myself AND my work as far out there as I possibly can. And while I can’t be attached to the results...and I must be grateful for the opportunity and the experience...I also need to set some ridiculously audacious goals and do everything in my power to meet them.
In March I will be focusing my efforts here on Steemit. And why not? I’m going to post here anyway. Even if I wind up being the only upvote on every post. So I have nothing to lose. But just as I wrote a couple of days ago, there’s immense power in declaring your dreams and asking for help in making them a reality.
Since that post, I’ve increased my following. Some awesome people like @countrygirl and @dflo have reached out with great advice, propositions, and support. I’ve started connecting more...which is out of my comfort zone. Until it isn’t. Until my comfort zone grows bigger and warmer and cozier.
So what’s going to be so audacious about March? Im so glad that you asked...
I will NOT focus on payouts or upvotes or what I get...but rather concentrate solely on what I will give:
- I will create 2 posts per day
- I will follow at least 10 new people per day
- I will do at least 25 upvotes per day
- I will comment on at least 12 unique posts per day (other than my own)
- I will resteem 1 amazing post per day
- I will enter at least one contest per day
- Based on my own wallet, I will run a couple of contests, funds permitting (if anyone wants to help with this, I’d be extremely grateful)
And here are my audacious goals:
- I will reach 1,000 followers by the end of March - nearly doubly what I have now
- I will reach 2,000 posts - again, nearly doubling the current count
- I will increase the accounts I follow to at least 500
- I will pay my rent with SBD
And there you have it. I need as much help and support as you are willing to give me. But that sounds vague, doesn’t it? So let me be audacious about it:
- I need upvotes
- I need followers
- I need resteems
- I need engagement
- I need encouragement
- I need audacious ideas and dares
- I’m sure I’ll need a kick in the ass...or 7
- I need a little help getting started funding contests
- I need whatever it is that you have to offer that I have failed to realize that I need
Maybe I’ll hit all of my milestones. Maybe I won’t. But I’ll damned sure pursue them with gusto. And I’d love some company! If you want to be audacious with me, make your own declarative post and be sure to use #audaciousmarch.

woahhhhhhh! I am all in but i am doing it live in person in my local life too so I cant throw down for Steemit right now. I am already stretching as far as I can but this sounds like an amazing plan! Best wishes to you i cant wait to get jealous as I watch this take off! :)
And I’ll be a little jealous, too. Live-in-person is foresaw I g me at the moment...or perhaps it’s the other way around. My hope is that this momentum will translate infectiously over ther. 😉

Excellent declaration and determination. I think there is an award for this somewhere! I'd love to help with a contest but I have no idea how to on these things. I know you can get donations from people. I will keep my ears and eyes open for how that can happen for you. There have been a lot of new initiatives and projects lately so I'll see how they started.
Thanks, Deb! I see people doing it, too. Ideally, I’m happy to do it out of my “spoils” but I can’t very well promise a certain payout unless I have it in reserves. Currently I do not. Catch 22.
I suspect peopl can pledge to help and then either send it to me or to the winners directly. As soon as I get rolling with that I will of course be sure to hold onto a little bit of Steem or SBD to cover future contests. But since I already audaciously pledged to start it right away, I will need a boost. 😄
I'm not sure of the kind of contest you have in mind but @kus-knee is a great guy to connect with. He runs the mundane as art contest. He's very helpful to others so I'm pretty sure he'd give you some tips and guidance.

Yeah, I get that having a following is a ginormous ingredient here. That’s definitely a big part of what I’m hoping to affect with all of my audacious shenanigans.
I totally wanna be a whale. 😄 But as much so that I can give back as that I can succeed for myself. And the lightbulb snapped on over my head; if I wanna be a whale, I need to start acting like one.

Great to see your determination! It's tough having a stable income as an artist and Steemit can be a real game changer if it develops to its full potential.
I believe everything great starts outside of your comfort zone, so it's nice that you are trying to reach out to others and connecting.

Life is handing me a perfect storm at the moment, demanding that I get out of my comfort zone. So here I am. 😊 Thank you for your consistent encouragement and support. You’ve been bolstering me all along. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed; my appreciation is deep.
Asking is a BIG hurdle for me....always has been. So his is a dark and scary leap. But it’s slso unexpectedly exhilarating.
I’d love to join you over at Curie. I’m not sure xactly sure hat tha entails. What do o need to do and how?
First off, if you are not sure about the main purpose of Curie - it's to discover and reward promising new authors, make them feel welcome on the platform and bring them closer to other Steemians and curators. Right now, we only vote on maybe 15-20 posts per day, so it's only the very best content that gets approved (the best examples are resteemed on Curie blog).
Curators search for quality posts and authors who are producing valuable content without much rewards. They submit it to reviewers who then decide if it's exceptional enough to be rewarded. Each curator has a score depending on their percentage of approved posts. Curators with better scores can propose more. 10 steem is the reward for each approved post. Curie also supports certain sub-communities and individual curators who can vote without following the strict guidelines.
To become a Curie curator one of the top curators or reviewers would have to mentor and then recommend you. If you think you would do a good job, I would be happy to go much more in depth. But keep in mind that it can be overwhelming and even frustrating at times. :D
Thanks for the response. I do know the purpose. And I fully support it. As you know, I was curated early on by Curie and that was what gave me hope and made me want to be a Steemian. I’d very much like to become part of Curie.
