Convective Fascination
The Monsoon Season brings an amazing display of beautiful convective cloud formation of which I'm very fascinated by. This image was recently captured in sedona Arizona USA and shows whats called Mammatus clouds in the upper left area.
The Mammatus is representative of downward convection caused by excessive moisture out flow from the top of a mature thunderstorm. These clouds are visually characterized by pouch like protrusions hanging from the underside of the cloud which carries the potential to propagate new storm development as seen here. The row of clouds forming in the lower right of the frame are whats called cumulus congestus, they look like they are reaching up to meet the others. These clouds are the starters for new storms.
Science, art and beauty combined.
Really wonderful shot of cloudy sky. I appreciate your beautiful creativity.
I hope you like it. Thanks for looking!
Super cool shot! I've never quite seen one like that before. Very unique. The way the clouds are jutting out in that pattern is really neat! Great capture.
Thanks' I'm just trying to show something a little different.
