Bainskloof Pass
Howzit Steemians! Today I want to share a view from my first hike in South Africa outside of Cape Town, in Bainskloof.
One of the oldest and perhaps the most scenic passes in South Africa is Bainskloof Pass. The original dirt road was used for horse drawn carriages. The well known road engineer of South Africa, Andrew Geddes Bain (hence the name of the pass) completed the 30 km long pass in 1853, without any formal engineering training.
The pass is in close proximity to some scenic hiking routes as well as whisky production facilities near the town Wellington.
Wishing a lovely week to all Steemians!
Hasta la proxima!
