I had this post prepared with the photos but hadn't added the text as I wasn't sure what to vent about to go with these shots, well as it happens tonight i have something to Vent or moan about so here goes.
dang it is cold out here,
And yes I was until a couple of minutes ago standing out in the cold for about 35 Minutes or more, today I made it to work, and as I waited for the train and walked to my office building I was kind of cursing those that make the decision for a Snow/Ice day for not calling on today, but then I was in the office and warm all day so I slowly felt Ok maybe it was a good call, Until I walked back to Grand Central to catch the train home, but then I got on the warm train and all was good in the World.
BUT
Then I got off the train, and mind you it had warmed up from this morning it was about 13 F with a real feel of -7F, so I quickly walked ot the car and dang the remote door lock thing didn't work, I used the key and got into the car, and was wondering why the remote starter had not worked as it normally does.
and yes you guessed it the car did not start, so I called Road Side assistance, which apparently so many others were doing, and after a long wait finally got to talk to someone and they booked a person to come and do a jump Start.
I thought OK that's good let's hope they don't take to long to get here, and was thinking thats good
THEN
I got a text confirming the Jump Start person was coming and they would be there within 75 Minutes and to stay near the car, bare in mind I had been waiting and walking to try and stay warm for about 15 to 20 Minutes already by that stage, I was then wishing i had just Called an Uber and left the car to deal with tomorrow.
AND THEN IT GETS....
Thanksfully, better after about 15 Minutes a guy calls to confirm the Address and says he will be there in a little over 5 Minutes.
Which he was, so now I am sitting in a running ar waiting for the heater to kick up to speed, but feeling a little wamer already.
So he said to run the car for half an hour so I added this ordeal and about to share this post, then drive home and run the car for another half hour, and then go inside and wwarm up and hope for the best tomorrow morning, at least I have a garage ot poark the car so it wont be as cold as it was during the day today for the car and hopefully it will behave in the morning

Now to drive home and try to warm up, my fingers are warming up now even with the gloves off to type this but my feet feel like Icicles.

Today, you remind me of our first year in New York where I learned there really is such a thing as too cold to snow. It was a bitter brown winter with only one sort-of kind-of snow. Lots of frozen swamp and river though.
I also had never experienced anything lower than 11 degrees. Negative 11 makes 11 feel like a tropical heat wave.
My husband was walking about a mile to the train station every day. People started stopping and picking him up on the way. Who picked him up depended on when he left within a 15 minute window. The early man in an SUV (ironically, the SUV became ours 2 years later), the on-time lady in a sports car, or the always-late couple from England. I miss that community so much.
Please replace your car battery immediately. Do not pass go, do not return to the train station, without replacing the battery.
Ok, to be sure I was not over reacting, I double checked with my geek / mechanic / husband. He said if you somehow left the lights on or know why the battery drained during the day, you have a fair chance of recharging and being able to carry on.
However, if you arrived to your car to find it dead for no good reason, it probably won't even start in the morning. Cold weather is usually the last straw for weak batteries.

Yes thats how I was when I first came here, and it was to late to do the battery tonight and the mechanic that came said this was happening to lots of people with this frigid cold spell, the battery is pretty new I just got it a few months back, so will see if it starts in the morning which I hope it does as I have lots of meetings tomorrow morning but will try to leave early and go get it checked and most likely changed after work tomorrow

No, not really. It's Federal. We celebrate them all. I am really sorry. I wish they had offered telecommuting. It's so much friendlier and safer. I mean, who doesn't love to telecommute? I hope things are better for tomorrow, but if they don't look it just call in sick with your endless days that you probably have stacked up. I hope you have a good night and get some good rest.

I could have called in cold and it would have been fine, but I had a good day in the office so it wasnt that bad a day
tomorrow will be a better day, if the car starts all well and good if not I will stay home and get it sorted :)

Oh man! Even my BFF texted just to complain how dag on cold it was! I usually don’t get to hear from her much anymore not even a complaint text, so this says a lot. Even you made an entire blog about it! I am sure glad I am not in the city!!!

Well at least later today it is warming up fingers crossed my car starts when I get home tonight
I wanted to see the Moon eclipse last night and take photos. I lasted an hour at -25 Celsius. Thank God there was no wind, otherwise temps would have been around -40! My toes didn't enjoy it.
Ouch thats so cold, and here was I complaining about our temps in a post and there warm compared to those temps LOL
You might want to repost this in our post-promo channel. I took out the one you put there last night. It had a weku link and I can't correct it. So try again. (And we'll pretend this ugly little incident never happened. (:-p I won't tell if you don't.)
