The Ultimate Reality Is That Which Has No Outside

That Which Has No Outside (1).png

This is a thought-provoking discussion based philosophy post. Feel free to poke holes in logic and explore the unknowns with me.

Everything that exists must exist within consciousness, there is nothing that exists outside of consciousness (cannot be experienced in some conscious way). Everything has energy, nothing exists without energy. Everything exists within our universe, there is nothing "outside" our universe. If God is everything, then God cannot be just one thing. If God is everything, God must also be nothing. This is because once something has encompassed everything it loses it own attribution. In the same way that a droplet of water is no longer a single droplet if returned to the ocean, it "becomes" the entire ocean, but when experienced as a droplet it is seemingly separate from the all encompassing ocean, but has all of the potential and the qualities held by the ocean represented in the smallest form of it. I can't go looking for consciousness and non-consciousness because everything is conscious in a sense. I cannot seek it out and grasp it. It is the underlying component to everything.

Huh?

Someone might say then "What? Are you crazy? A rock isn't conscious so how does it exist within consciousness?"

Well. A rock can only be experienced in a conscious way. I can't experience a rock without myself being conscious. If I knock on a rock, it has a response, it makes a sound. Also what many people fail to understand about energy is that a rock is not solid, but rather, the molecules that form the rock are moving so fast compared to my molecules that I cannot move through it. We evoke hardness from the rock simply because we are soft. The rock isn't hard, it's just vibrating extremely fast. In this way you may come to realize that everything is actually conscious and form a deeper and more appreciative understanding of life. It seems almost silly at first, but you will come to realize that is exactly scientifically accurate when you think it all through.

With this, one might conclude that:

A. The universe is "God"
B. Consciousness is "God"
C. Energy is "God"
D. "God" is synonymous with being the ultimate reality
E. The ultimate reality is that which has no outside

Thoughts

So you could say God is neither yin, nor yang, but rather both. There is no outside of yin and yang, there is just yin and yang. It is the encompassing of the in and the out that which you cannot go further out from.

I say "God" because I don't like the stigma around the word as it presents a dualistic concept of the ultimate reality.

These are just my thoughts and also reflections on Alan Watts' teachings. Feel free to find loopholes. Also this isn't to attack religion or anything, just a thought experiment for you

Enlightened post my friend. Love your take on this and from Allan Watts. I Think much the same when it comes with a plant 🌿 having an invisible auric field

Hey! Thanks so much for reading and I'm really glad you enjoyed it :) Yes we evoke everything out of the vibrations in the environment in a way that makes complete sense scientifically and spiritually

It's a common theme nowadays that people pluck the thing they love and turn into something they do not

Your words are so true. I have heard Alan watts he said the same. I have read Buddhist philosophy, some of zen proverbs and Upanishads, all have this common point but described it in slightly different way...thanks to make a blog of this timeless truth....

Cheers! I'm just doing what I can :)

molto bella cartolina, grazie!

God doesn't lose independence by manifesting everything. Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, said in Bhagavad-gītā,

BG 7.12: Know that all states of being — be they of goodness, passion or ignorance — are manifested by My energy. I am, in one sense, everything, but I am independent. I am not under the modes of material nature, for they, on the contrary, are within Me.

That's fine, that still agrees with my premise the ultimate reality is that which has no outside. Going off the "are within me" part

The Vedas describe ultimate reality as having an impersonal omnipresent aspect (Brahman) and an personal omnipresent aspect (Paramātmā), but ultimately is a person who is the origin of reality (Bhagavān).

SB 1.5.20: The Supreme Lord Personality of Godhead is Himself this cosmos, and still He is aloof from it. From Him only has this cosmic manifestation emanated, in Him it rests, and unto Him it enters after annihilation. Your good self knows all about this. I have given only a synopsis.

Experience includes both true and false concepts, but only truth is in the form of Bhagavān. Brahma-saṁhitā states:

BS 5.32: I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose transcendental form is full of bliss, truth, substantiality and is thus full of the most dazzling splendor. Each of the limbs of that transcendental figure possesses in Himself, the full-fledged functions of all the organs, and eternally sees, maintains and manifests the infinite universes, both spiritual and mundane.

Being full of truth means having no place for falsehood, which is maintained apart from Bhagavān. False concepts are in Him the like you're in the Sun when exposing your body to sunshine.

While I appreciate the explanation. I like to separate the concept around the ultimate reality of the world and religion (Hinduism). Firstly because many subscribe to the automatic model of the world and do not care for religion, secondly those that do have more so gravitated to monotheistic religions, and thirdly because spirituality is the underlying basis of religion and much more important. I'd say if I'm anything, I'm a mystic

I've never identified as Hindu. I don't think of the Vedas as Hindu. It's as though looking at the moon in between the branches of a tree. The tree appears situated between some branches only because of a distant perspective. This is a concept the Vedas call taṭastha-lakṣaṇa, which means "marginal characteristics."

The last semester of my university education was classes exclusively yoga and mysticism. I was just thinking a few weeks ago about the my textbook for the mysticism class, which was authored by Evelyn Underhill. It was worth reading, even though I don't identify as Christian. The essential goal of yoga is personal spiritual experience.

Yeah I am not hindu either, but I feel there is something to be learned from Hinduism like many religions there is wisdom. I'd actually put myself under mysticism separate from catholic or even religious mysticism

Excellent post @scottcbusiness I haven't read that much about Alan Watts, but if these are the ideas he taught, it sounds like he is on par with the greatest teachers in history.

Yes, he aimed to popularize eastern philosophy in the west in the mid 1900s. He died in the 1960s. He was easily my favorite philosopher

As your mental experiment does work, I am Catholic and I believe in God, your alternatives in your own conclusion:
I quote:

A. The universe is "God"
B. Conscience is "God"
C. The energy is "God"
D. "God" is synonymous with being the ultimate reality
E. The last reality is the one that does not have outside

I can add it to my own opinion and say all of it inclusive, so I can say for myself and it is likely that others will think the same way:

A. The universe is "God"? Answer = Yes.
B. Consciousness is "God"? Answer = Yes.
C. The energy is "God"? Answer = Yes.
D. "God" is synonymous with being the ultimate reality? Answer = Yes.
E. The ultimate reality is the one that does not have outside? Answer = Yes.
F. All the above questions Are God.,? Answer = Yes.

The existence of God is always on trial but he demonstrates with example from the scriptures that he is there, in spite of all circumstances.

Friend I liked reading your publication, I got to you thanks to the publication of Teelkee.com - Tokenize Your World - Pre-alpha Application

Hey that's awesome :) I'd like to think this perception of reality incorporates all beliefs :)

In part you're very right that would be great, but in reality it does not work that way.
It is very regrettable.
