Cease The Multitasking Devil
Let me introduce you to a man named George, who is walking to college with one of his hands on the phone, his eyes are watching flash news on snapchat, instagram or youtube and his mouth is chewing food. He could barely remember the information he was receiving, He could barely know the taste of his food and almost tripped himself.
That scenario is common in today's society. It's becoming a luxury to have a sit down meal without a distraction or even do ONE thing at a time. We might think that it's efficient but it's actually not. Thanks to our deficit attention due everything appears to move swiftly. Then, we got introduced to new terms called FOMO(red: fear of missing out). Then, the world is suddenly a crazy and a scary place to live in. We have to perform couple of tasks at a time due increasingly high demand either in our life or our job.
Then, when someone asked us about how was the experience or things we do, we barely remember a thing. Then, there's slight regret that we did not enjoy that particular moment. We want to rewind even, want to experience again but there seem to be no time.
In all honesty, the currency we speak in today's world is not money but time. It's such an expensive limited commodity. Many people I met, value their time more than the money. I think we want to accomplish so much but in the end we don't even value our accomplishment. We crave more and often, it is material needs.
I was that George. I multitasked thinking it would be better and I'd get more things done. Truth be told, I get things done but I never understand a single a thing. I learn nothing as I wasn't present. If you ask me, I would have no answer to describe the taste of fruit I just ate or how to troubleshoot a problem I was just having. It was terrible until I learn how to do ONE thing at a time.
It is better to enjoy a moment and be present. Talk to one person at a time, understand them. Don't jump around here and there. Eat your food slowly and enjoy its taste; be grateful even. Walk or Drive without having to look at your device. People can wait if they truly need us.

I was also a person like George. I multitasked everyday whatever I do even when I study I did something together. When I took a test I noticed that I studied hard but nothing was left in my brain, I couldn't write the answer. After that time I am trying to do one by one but it's not easy to do.
@shong2, As a student, I experienced that. I remember better when I focus at ONE task at a time. It's not easy to do because our world has many distractions, from friends blowing up our chat due tiny things or even some flash news and that notifications of people we follow in our social media. It's the time when our self control is totally tested. I find it really difficult sometimes but I have had enough and I decided to lessen my multi tasking habit.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Meditate!!! =)
@somethingrandom, meditate is for sure :))
Funny that I'm reading this text, thinking about what I have to do, writing this comment and ansearing people on Discord.
You are absolutely right when it comes to time, I feel like the days are passing incredibly fast, when they still have 24 hours and not less. It's my brain getting inundated with information.
15 minutes a reading, 10 minutes a video, answear some comments, check things and bang, bye bye one hour.
Thanks for writing this post, it just remembered me to organize my time, to step back a little.
@mrprofessor, 24 hours is actually enough if we maximize the activities that we have. Sometimes, there are this feeling that I feel I am left behind people at at my age, or say at our age.
In case if you have not been following, there's a new term called " flexer". It is normally someone who boast about their accomplishment on social networking. The youngest " flexer" is around 9 years old, she said she has more money than probably couple of adults combined and been working selling " bricks" since she was 6 years old. Imagine my shock! this creates feeling that you are not enough, there's always more people who are superior. But actually if we step back, we will see that , we are enough.
Take a moment to schedule your time better if you have many things to do. Time correlates with our goal. It's the only capital that's free and that we have it.
Wow I didn't know about that term, not even going to check it hahahaha if you say it is insane like that.
Yeah, guess it's all about time management afterall.. I do have to organize my Steemit time otherwise I'll go crazy once it gets bigger.
Maybe disconecting sometimes to work is a viable solution, it's so much distraction around us. One start writing a text and a thousand things beeping around warning us about something happening online. And I'm not even that hooked to other social medias (no FB, no Instagram, YT only one or two videos before bed). Imagine if I were...
Get rid of that device. Problem solved.
I like multitasking.
It makes me a stronger person. LOL
