I try not to be a one trick pony...

I like to write about a lot of different things. I do tend to write in clusters. I'll write some political post which may lead to several political posts as my mind runs in that direction. I often write philosophical posts. Sometimes it is a very musical time for me and that is what I write. I'll write about science one moment and paranormal type topics during another time. To be honest with you I don't usually know what I am going to write about until the urge takes ahold of me.

So why am I writing this? I do tend to consider myself more an anarcho-capitalist/voluntaryist leaning person. Yet, I also look at the world around me as it is. Some things I write about are targeted at how the world is now. This means I do not treat my post as a post about what I would like the world to be like.

I'd like to think I am not a one trick pony. I don't believe I need to always write about anarchism/voluntaryism.

While this is something I'd like to see the world try in the future I believe we have work to do in order to get it ready to accept that and be functional. Thus, I will often talk about voting and doing things in today's world that have a direct impact on the world I live in, and that of my family.

Sometimes people will respond talking about tax being theft, or about the government being an issue and basically pushing for anarchistic view points.

I know this. Yet each post I write already tends to be longer than a lot of people like to deal with. If I wrote a treatise on anarchy in each and every one of my posts they would end up being unbearably long and repetitive.

I'd also begin to feel like a one trick pony.

Could I try to make a career about talking only about anarchism/voluntaryism. Sure. Yet that seems incredibly dull to me and I have no intention of doing so.

So for those of you that know me if I write something about politics or philosophy that is more current than my preferred ideology for the future, that does not mean I was not aware of those things.

I view the process as stepping stones in a path. I believe to bring people with us on this journey we need to offer many different paths that lead towards it. For it to work the majority of people would need to understand how it works and be willing to put forth the effort to support such a world.

I do not believe we are even close to having the numbers we need. I also believe bludgeoning people over the head with anarchistic concepts will only reach some people. Also the concept of anarchy is not exactly decided. I myself lean towards anarcho-capitalism. There are however anarcho-communists and we have some here on steemit. A number of their beliefs in their ideology do not work for me. I am not a fan. Yet, I will discuss and treat them with the respect that I try to give to everyone. I even like the few I've met here. We just don't agree in that one area.

Yet, I am going to write about a lot of different things. I am not going to plug anarchism/voluntaryism in every single post where I possibly can. I believe there are enough people doing that already. I'd like to do things my own way. Maybe I'll help some of the people they miss.

I just enjoyed reading that and can appreciate your perspective. Keep writing, I look forward to reading more.

You're definitely not a one trick pony, that's for sure!

You sound like me as I write about many different subjects as well. My main subject is Silver but to be honest I am all over the place. Upvoted & Followed.
@digestingreality

I just love political discussions and it feels great to bounce ideas around with you and I could read your political articles all day. I also like some of your articles about other topics like gaming, but when I go to the @dwinblood I am searching for that juicy political topics... ofc I want you to be happy so you are allowed to make articles about other things as well. ;D

btw do you think of me as an Anarcho-Commi?

No you are not an An-Comm. An-Comm people I've spoken to generally approve of antifa and their actions.

kk, I was confused. I might be a Commi, but I sure as hell am no Anarchist!
Even tho I sympathize with you guys ;)

And if it makes you feel better. Anarcho-Capitalism and Voluntaryism are essentially the same thing. I am sure some people would disagree. You cannot force others into action. By nature socialism, and communism require taking choice about some things away from people. They require everyone to do certain things. Voluntaryist simply believe good ideas don't require force. Convince me to support your idea with reason and if you do I'll sign a contract to support that idea. Yet that will be just me. Contracts can only impact those who agreed to them. You and I agreeing to an idea does not mean we can force someone else that did not agree to go along with it.

I see the beauty in that, Im just not convinced it will (ever) work. I would be willing to give it a try tho.

I enjoy your posts and look forward to more of them!

I consider myself an-cap as well, founded a voluntarist organization in my country and all but stopped recently labeling myself due to the fact that people make wrong conclusions about you based on past experience. For example when I realized that many people associate an-cap and libertarianism with TDV, I backed off completely. I am nothing alike with that guy but a mere title makes all the difference. Same applies about atheism. I have nothing to do with the neo-atheist movement although I understand how people will make wrong associations once you call your self a non-believer.

I rarely try to mention the words "anarchy" or "atheism" because people have a natural shield against these concepts. I rather try to explain myself through examples that make these ideas self evident.

Excellent post. Keep up the good work man.

I agree on the words. Right up there with Conspiracy Theorist...

Most of the time I just try to talk about the ideas of anarcho capitalism without mentioning it as well. I actually believe this is why a lot of people started referring to themselves as voluntaryists.

I guess this is good step forward. Words can have an unfathomed amount of baggage.

Until the world starts using critical thinking and stops letting words that have meaning so casually be hijacked an repurposed it is all we can do I think. Adapt, regroup, and try another approach.

The word "anarchist" is too misunderstood. I prefer voluntarist as well. Wikipedia uses the term voluntaryist, but that doesn't roll off my tongue as well. If you say you are an anarchist, people will tell you to move to another country. People tend to think anarchists are all about smashing windows and throwing Molotov cocktails.

Personally, I've never done any of those things. Actually, I'm totally against that crap.

yeap...the equivocate anarchists with communist anarchists and cultural marxists.

2 days ago I titled a post: the one trick pony. And bulleted an outline. Between you and @denmarkguy 'stealing' my work, it is a surprise I get anything posted...

I am obviously going to have to change my approach and range further afield. My next posts will be on either the dangers of the platypus or vegemite.

Heh... I went and looked and could not find the post. Give me my leg back and quit pulling it. :P

This is what worries me. I use wordpress to write and transfer it over and it is like the two of you have my passwords...

Shhhh.... that's a secret.

I like the diversity-- and whereas I totally honor the folks who are all "anarchy-anarchy-anarchy" and "blockchain-blockchain-blockchain," I'm far to ADHD to be able to just stick with one thing... be it what I write or what I like to read.

I guess I just never saw you as a "one trick pony." You seem to write about all sorts of thing, in an interesting way. And you actually use English, not "txt spk." That's a big plus, right there.

Haha... l33t speak... :P Yeah, not likely. I was active on the internet before that became a thing. I actually saw it happen and it wasn't really my thing. Well I guess technically some phone phreakers did do it before I was on the internet. :)

Variety is the spice of life! It is easy to focus on the future all the time but good to enjoy the simple pleasures of today that surround us once in a while.

Yes, and I enjoy steemit so much because of the people here and how it mostly has been positive. My mind keeps expanding as I push to do more and more here. That is a very valuable thing. It is worth more than the currency. Yet I also think the currency is one of the things causing people to have some restraint and not so quickly be disrespectful of each other.

So the currency in this case is having some positive benefits I would not have predicted. It does motivate me at times, I will not lie about that. Yet I'd keep doing it with or without if it remained respectful and as mind expanding as it has been.

I agree it is very positive, especially compared to a lot of other online forums. No doubt mind expanding as well.
