Freedom as a requirement for personal development

We can see happiness as the highest purpose of individual life, any ideological system that reduces people to the situation of scapegoating for their collectivist ideals, is reducing them to the category of an object without soul or mind. Freedom is a tool of life through which people can find results base on their qualities and effort, to dispose of their property according to their own personal criteria, to study the career for which they feel inclination, to read the books they want, to create and sell their products freely. That is, to become the owner of their own life.

Freedom is also the tool that allows everyone to get where they want. It is the fundamental tool to achieve happiness according to our own means and scale of values. There are parts of the world, where unscrupulous governments are on a constant mission to concentrate in their hands an absolute power to regulate individual life, and many of them end up achieving this, reducing the private initiative by turning the people to the category of a prehistoric barbarian, more focused on fighting for survival than on actually living and working towards his own development.

Even if it is against the natural logic of life, collectivist governments can distort reality and turn the people into individuals without a past and with an arbitrarily unpredictable future redesigned by the current ruler. People who supports things like this, tend to reject reason and succumb to fanaticism. It is not right, that people in some places have to request authorization from the bureaucrats on duty, so they can freely dispose of their right to move, consume certain foods, exchange with foreign currencies, travel, among many others basic activities.

Living is something that involves not only providing food for ourselves but also creating the resources to achieve our goals and freely access the goods and services that society offers us. There are countries where people have been giving up portions of their freedom without noticing that with this they are also giving control over their lives. If people lose part of their right to live, they will also lose the product of their work.

Some governments interested in something like this can try and condition people’s reality by making them believe that living and striving to achieve their own desires is a selfish and heartless attitude, which is nothing more than a strategy for manipulating the masses, if this succeeds or not, will depend on the values of each one, people need to be clear about what they are willing to do in order to redirect their lives along the path of dignity and personal development. And for that it is necessary to think freely and not submit to any kind of manipulation.
