This is one of my entries in to the joint contest currently being run by @erikah and @photocircle. I hope to do all seven categories! Thanks to @eoj for encouraging me to participate!

Nestled in the heart of Jaipur, Rajasthan in India is the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Breeze). It is definitely one of the most iconic buildings in Jaipur. It was built in 1799 by the Rajput ruler, Sawai Pratap Singh. The Purdah system at that time was being strictly enforced not allowing the Rajput ladies to be seen by strangers nor go out in public. The honeycomb shape and beautifully carved window construction allows the palace ladies to observe the daily life and royal processions without being seen. With its unique architecture, it allows the breeze to blow through the palace making it a perfect summer palace. @eoj and I took our baby to India when he was five months old and loved every minute of it. The Indian people are extremely warm and welcoming and there is a ton to see and photograph in India!
