I started compiling a list of people who were nominated to be placed on my PAY IT FORWARD PROGRAM just yesterday. When I woke up today, I had a message from @jackmiller. It was a simple reminder, yet it is something I will never forget. Genuine gestures are often the last things we forget! Check this out:
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
The SBD is not why I am mentioning this, not at all. @STSL's held a recent contest calling for nominations. @jackmiller went way beyond that. He went as far as to write a post (below), which let me tell you made me feel pretty damn good! That makes me want to make other people feel good. I appreciate his actions AND words. Not only did he write a really kind-hearted post, but he declared that he would send the liquid earnings to me for that post (the 4.389 SBD above). I knew that we could put that to good use. Jack is the one awesome Aussie.

You got it, my friend. These icons are PNG graphics - basically a virtual sticker! You can place them over other images, use them in videos, or use them on their own. If you have any color or font preferences for the # 2 design, just say the word! I'll take care of the rest. Heading to my desk and will drop the icon here in just a few.
How would the username in black, American Typewriter font, look on the blue steem background?
I'm terrible at design. lol

These are already hosted on the blockchain, so you can copy the image address and paste it right into a post box. You can also right-click and save. They have your name on them, so they're all yours!

HAHA I totally get that.. I left Facebook about 9-10 years ago and some of my friends were like "You're dead to me" 😆, so... Now I Steemit with a handful of awesome people and most of them are here..LOL in this thread
Hahaha. I'm still on Facebook but use it a lot les now. Most of the stuff just pisses me off. Haha yep, my Steemit friends are growing but definitely takes some time
The FB thing just wasn't for me. My wife and everyone I know is on there, but I don't miss anything not having it..lol that speaks volumes to the utility (or lack of) that FB has to offer. Managed to start a service based biz online before without it, so I figure there's gotta be something ready to takes it place. Whether Steemit is "it" or not, it sure feels like a good place for creation. That's all I need, really. If I stop creating stuff I'd have to be strapped in a chair somewhere secure..LOL
Likeminds can find each other in the dark, brother! We all link up eventually. Funny it had to be a blockchain to do it..makes sense tho! 😆

I love the entire "Pay it Forward" concept, and the way Steemit is-- largely-- what we might call a "gift economy." And somehow, it often brings out the best in people... in what can often seem like a very selfish world.
Thank you, @reddragonfly! Steemit is certainly unique in terms of 'economy', but I'm not sure which type or title fits best. Although the There are certainly some very generous people on this platform and the 'Pay it Forward' concept sure seems to fit nicely!
However, this platform is also very much a market economy. Services are exchanged every few seconds on this blockchain. Not only are there businesses like @bittrex and @blocktrades here, but there's many others already. Then you can see the growing interest in 'services for STEEM' with the increased offerings of #steemgigs. I'm a fellow member of the #sfg (@steemfreelancers STEEM Freelancer's Guild) and just one of dozens of freelanecers who are providing services on the blockchain.
I provide voluntary service, community services, as well as paid service. I am not sure exactly what name to pin on it - but it sure is beautiful!! One place that a average guy like me can make smiles for miles 🙂
