🎶 Open Mic Week 55 - My Top 5 Judges Selection 🎶

It's been an amazing week with open mic, so many new entrants with such clear talent -it really is a privilege to be able to be a part of this contest, not too mention to be able to select the best from these brilliant entries.

This week we have seen another surge in new entrants, so many new faces, voices and instruments - it was perfect with each new click, I found a new talent to look forward to hearing more from.

So here is my top five selection for this weeks open mic.

This week's top 5:

1st Place - @lucybanks - Another Chance

I am so stoked to have you enter again this week, I love your voice and the control you have over it - not to mention this is an original song, just wow it hits all the right marks in my mind.

I like songs with varied ranges, the lower notes make the higher notes shine more intensely - the whole structure of the song works so well, I found myself singing along with you.

A deep and emotional song that captured my attention immediately, full of sorrow and sadness or even regret and struggle - it's hard for me to put my finger on it, but this song strikes a note that speaks to the listener.

I was sold on your entry last week and this week you haven't failed to keep my attention, I love this song and strongly recomend everyone check it out.

2nd Place - @queenbee - Too Good At Goodbyes

I have been waiting for another entry from @queenbee for a little while now, what can I say I love her voice so much - it's gentle, sweet and soft, but doesn't fail to convey the emotion of the song.

This is a complex cover filled with emotion and vocal gymnastics that I love to replicate when listening, I'm so glad to have her enter again she is a great addition to the contest.

There is a power behind her voice and with skill she waits until the perfect moment to let it hit, a beautiful entry I strongly recommend you check out.

3rd Place - @addiesworld - Holy

A beautiful haunting original song by the ever so talented @addiesworld, what can I say I am just an epic fangirl when it comes to her entries into the open mic contest.

Not a single entry has failed to impress me, her vocal control is impeccable and creative - especially when it comes to her original music it is perfectly tailored to her voice, I just can't get enough from this highly talented musician.

I can't wait to hear what she comes out with next, please do yourself a favour check out her work she's pretty brilliant.

4th Place - @branhmusic - What We Got

A great song as usual from @branhmusic, full of energy within the first few bars I found myself bopping along with the song - the guitar composition is brilliant full of life and well it just sounds full and fleshed out.

I enjoy music that's not only well structured but creatively so, you have a sound that I now know as your's but each week there is something different in all of your songs - something that compels the listener to feel what your feeling.

This such an active song and I just love the sound of the bridge just beautiful, there's a hopeful tone to the song I really enjoyed listening multiple times through - do yourself a favour and <a href='https://steemit.com/openmic/@branhmusic/steemit-openmic-week-55-original-song-what-we-ve-got">check out his music.

5th Place - @loic.ronsse - Samidare

Soft, soothing and sweet, this is such an amazing gentle calming entry - I found myself physically relax when I heard this, it was blissfully soothing on multiple hear throughs.

I love a full sound when a solo instrument it being played but with this entry, the sound is just so full it's as if he has accompaniment - from the first moments of this song I knew just how amazing and beautiful the entry would be.

I really don't know what to say but thank you that was beautiful, I really loved it and I look forward to hearing more entries from you in the future - I implore you to check out his work.

I had such a massive shortlist of entries this week for open mic, I am just so happy to see all these new faces with such amazing talent entering our contest - it is just such an honour to be a part of this community.

On the note of the community I thought I'd take a moment to mention that, over at the minnow support program on our discord chat room Peace Abundance and Liberty - the recently revitalised music room has been getting rather active lately.

As well as the recent burst of activity, we have also added a jukebox to the room - so now when you're chatting with people in the music room, you can choose and play music from youtube (this includes open mic entries, I may have already played a couple I really enjoyed).

So far I have seen a few open mic regulars hanging out and about on the PAL chat rooms, now we have a place where we can actively share music live with people were chatting with - this can help musicians in so many ways, not to mention it's just fun to hang out and chat over and about good tunes.

In addition to the new music room Peace Abundance and Liberty chat rooms have a lot to offer, you can access bots to vote on your posts, you can also meet and interact with over 5000 steemians in the channel - this can be a very useful resource to new steemians, but is also a fantastic place to meet and interact with like minded individuals on many different topics.
