Steemit Open Mic Week #67 - Just Give Me a Reason by Pink (Layered Harmony + Piano)
Hello Open Mic friends !
I’ve been experimenting with layering multiple videos to add harmony and this is the first time I’m posting a video like this for open mic!
Learning harmony is not something that comes naturally to me, probably because of all those years singing soprano in chior where finding the melody was drilled into me. Nevertheless, I’ve been pushing myself to learn harmonies for more songs. It takes a lot of work, but I’m getting there!
Big thanks to our open mic hosts - @luzcypher and @pfunk and to all of our amazing judges for all of their hard work. There are now hundreds of open mic entries every week, and so watching them all is no small task!

Thank you my friend! It’s been fun to experiment with layering different videos. Sometimes it takes a lot of finess to get them to sync up perfectly, but it’s totally worth it.

Absolutely! Keep up the good work :D I'm actually trying to do something similar with the camera, though for me it would be me DJing, but what software do you use to do the split screen?
I actually just use iMovie. The desktop version has a split screen option. I wish they had a more robust iMovie for iPhones and iPads, because then I could just edit things on the go, but I can’t complain. :-)
So how would you be using split screens for your DJ’ing? Would use it to layer different tracks as well?

So I was thinking about having one camera in front of me and another right by my controller that would come on (split screen) when I was doing transitions or scratching. And that's a cool idea. I might record my screen too and show the actual tracks mixing. Thanks for that!

Aww thanks so much for your kind words! I use iMovie because I have a Mac, but that’s a great idea for a post! I’d only be able to help Mac users though because that’s what I use. 😊
