Croatia-France, Great Finals
France and Croatia have qualified in the grand final of the World Football Championship in Russia. If for the French is the third final in the last 20 years, the Croatians are the highest sports performance of their country.
Croatia's first qualifier in the World Cup finals after defeating England 2-1 (0-1, 1-1) at the end of the game, at the Lujniki Stadium in Moscow in the second semifinal of the tournament final from Russia.
Croatia has thus surpassed its performance in 1998 when it won the bronze medal. In the Sunday final, the Croats will face the French team, who beat them in the semifinals 20 years ago, and then won the title after a final with Brazil.
England, champion in 1966, played its third semifinal, but failed to play with the trophy on the table, as it did in 1990.
The Croatians, despite having played the third consecutive game with extra time, managed to win by the goals scored by Ivan Perisic (68) and Mario Mandzukic (109), after the English first scored by Kieran Trippier (5).
With four changes made overtime by Dalic, the Croats have benefited in the second round of overtime extras in addition to the determination shown throughout the match. Brozovic (108) hurled dangerously beside the gate, and a minute later, Mandzukic broke out of the frenzied defense of the English and shot in the goal beside Pickford, to the ball sent with the head of Perisic.
England will play the small finals on Saturday against Belgium and can console with bronze medals, having practically assured and the title of goalkeepers, through Harry Kane, who has six goals.
Croatia has reached ten consecutive matches with a goal scored in the World Cup. England scored 9 of its 12 goals at the fixed pitch CM 2018. Croatia is undefeated by six World Cup matches (record).
Midfielder Jordan Henderson had a series of 30 consecutive matches without defeat to the national team, a record in English football.
Croatia is ranked weakest in the FIFA rankings since this hierarchy reaches a World Cup final, informs EFE.
The Balkan team has access to the last act of the World Cup in Russia on the 20th position of the World Football Federation, created in 1992, overtaking the French team, which ranks 18th when it won the title of world champion in 1998.
