I've moved to Hive, along with most other people, following Justin Sun's takeover of Steem in the Spring of 2020. I believe hive is a lot more decentralised than Steem!
cannot agree more here... both on the long term view the players need and apparently the designers were smart enough to implement
I am also very pleased that I own part of this amazing legendary planet same as you... In leu of community spirit I can translate /mediate if there are some language confusions but google translate is doing a reasonably job so far.
The only thing I am confused on so far is how the money mechanics are set up and how we will be able to "earn" steem but I am having fun for now so I guess it will be made clear
Maybe we'll never earn anything,
But it hasn't stopped me going on a mental shopping spree just now!
That sounds really interesting and more in line with traditional(?) game theory - getting players into a kind of social contract in order for anything to happen. I like the alliance idea, I wonder if it will help build collaboration skills (and if so, I know some politicians who could use some help ...).
How about a sociological comparison between steem monsters, drug wars and next colony? Throw in crypto kitties, if you like :)

It does have huge potential! It is a bit slow for some maybe!
I dunno about that comparison post.... sounds way to demanding!

I went to a really good talk by Ernest Adams in the early days of web 2.0. It was really something else, completely blew my mind.

This was a great write up Carl and it's useful for me as I've been wondering about this game having seen it mentioned around.
Tbh, having heard your description it had helped me decide not to bother. And this is not meant in any negative way toward the game, or your enjoyment of it. But it seems like it's a time heavy mining/development game and I barely manage to manage my DrugWars account lol.

Well it's not for everyone - mining/ development is exactly what it is.
It is long haul but not too time intensive once yr up and running!
