There's a similar game on EOS, but it seemed like a money grab, so I never started to play. I've started with this one. It should be fun. Are you still playing Drug Wars? Have you heard about Prospectors on EOS? It's going to be huge.

This game will be very slow paced. I spent a little and I do on most games just to encourage them. I'll spend more if I like it after a month. Actually, booster packs are one of the best ways to keep a game balanced, if you keep improving them, it keeps encouraging newer players to start up knowing it was harder at first.
I'll have to look into that EOS game. Although I am hesitant to jump on to a new blockchain that requires effort. Also, I just don't do a lot of gaming. I am more interested in watching the economic model and life cycle, or seeing how the developers manage challenges themselves when players exploit the game.
I kind of just gave up on Drug Wars today. Their one-year road map seems pretty cool but given their implosion by releasing the game when it was simply not ready and changing the dynamics so much, I am not really interested anymore. Actually, I would have quit weeks ago if the Next Colony was out and if they switched to future token immediately when they announced it. I just don't have enough fun with the game because there is really only one or two playing styles.

I'm still playing Drug Wars, but it isn't fun anymore. Hopefully someone will kill my army and then I will quit. I think you would be interested in Prospectors, because of it's free market economy, and there's over ten million dollars worth of tokens in the game for players to take out. Also EOS is great for gaming. Not too difficult to get an account. I made a new one for my daughter today. https://prospectors.io/

Wow! from what I just saw that looks sophisticated. Maybe I'll try it out. It's nice to hear you got your daighter on it. If she starts hodling now you won't have to pay for her college.

I kinda went kamikaze in drug wars today. Someone attacked my friend and I wiped out taking them down. They had a little left and I got someone to finish them. A fitting end. I don't want future tokens. They should be called nofuture.

To be honest though, I did enjoy drug wars for awhile. I never spend much on these games, just enough to keep a little interest, then I move on. I wish the day had 40+ hours in it.

I'm an economist, so I find this game fascinating. It won't be released for a couple of months, but there will be another alpha test release soon. They are doing an asset auction at the moment. I'm gonna try to buy a bunch of tools for $100. Sounds crazy, but should be very profitable. It would be great if you played this game. There will be unions, so we could work together. This game will be nothing like Drug Wars where it quickly runs out of STEEM. They have their own token, so the devs don't need to constantly sell stuff. Long term it will have it's own in-game governance with voting and a budget from taxation.

It seems like they are emulating the real gold rush by auctioning off equipment to the highest seller. I will take a look this weekend. Hopefully, I don't need to buy Eos to play yet or a minimal amount in anycase.

They're selling golden tickets right now to allow three days early access, but I don't think they will make much difference. Starting without any tools in the beginning might be a little slow and difficult, but you will be able to carry materials for other people to earn PGL, so it will be possible to play without spending anything and to start earning straight away. Of course you need to have an EOS account, which costs a few dollars.

Thanks for the review! I'm a bit up in the air as to join our not... It does look pretty cool, but I'm not sure about these time sink games. I think I'll end up sticking with Steem monsters, it's simple and easy to use from mobile. For the majority of my gaming I much prefer the depth of PC gaming...

I want to play at least 1 time-based strategy on Steem. I'm not really a serious gamer and give up quickly though unless it is very good.
I don't play Steem Monsters I used to play a card collecting game for mobile too much and got turned off the genre. But I think if you play that, you are doing well enough with just one game on Steem.
Since Drug Wars just stopped giving out Steem, I think I'm done with that also I never reinvested.
I used to like console games and graphics intense stuff, but these days slow-paced strategy games suit me.

Great post and insights.

These sorts of games are great, but I'm certain that I am going to be too time poor to delve into this in any depth at all.

The dev team are an amazingly skilled bunch behind this project, and I definitely agree with you that they have paid attention and are not repeating many of the mistakes the other gaming dapps have made on the steem platform.

I think games are steadily improving. Raising the bar is good especially after a few of the recent ones or the gambling ones. I don't want Steem to be known as a dice den for drug lords, lol.

These guys definitely stand out as highly capable. Also, I like how they are 100% open.

I've already lost two comments I've written, so suffice to say for now great game!

Yeah, I think it has a ton of potential. These kinds of games were made for blockchain and it doesn't seem like it will just turn into something were people race to get their 'investment' back.

Went in to see what it actually is...seems to be interesting (and does not contain a questionable name that might make my mum ask me what that is)! Still a little clueless on what I can do around, but it's going to be fun exploring, I guess. Overall response is a little slow (my internet is okay), hope that it will be better in the future :)

The resource limit per day is also adopted in some other games I play (like Sdorica and Honkai Impact, although I did quit that game due to time issues :P) and it's a pretty okay approach to keep things under control while allowing P2W elements. Not very sure how it will turn out for this but we'll see.

I'm not sure how resource intensive the game is. My Internet is blazing fast (Korea already has 5G mobile up).

Good point about the innocent appearance of the game. I don't think we will see the personal fights the other game creates. Just the types attracted to this one.
I do feel that a lot of people who don't like the slow-paced genre will dislike this game since you can't make Steem as easily as other games yet.

I don't think all games should be made for everyone though. It's nice to see a more diverse range of games coming out for Steem.

So far, it is basically upgrading. I am hoping they do well though and it turns out to be a great game, as it progresses.

I think they are going slow for a reason. Eventually, it will become epic, but no need to make a game that will burn out in 2 months like others I've experienced.

I hadn't heard of this game yet. It sounds pretty cool! I'm gonna have to go check it out!
