RE: Next Colony First Thoughts

in #nextcolony5 years ago (edited)

There's a similar game on EOS, but it seemed like a money grab, so I never started to play. I've started with this one. It should be fun. Are you still playing Drug Wars? Have you heard about Prospectors on EOS? It's going to be huge.

This game will be very slow paced. I spent a little and I do on most games just to encourage them. I'll spend more if I like it after a month. Actually, booster packs are one of the best ways to keep a game balanced, if you keep improving them, it keeps encouraging newer players to start up knowing it was harder at first.
I'll have to look into that EOS game. Although I am hesitant to jump on to a new blockchain that requires effort. Also, I just don't do a lot of gaming. I am more interested in watching the economic model and life cycle, or seeing how the developers manage challenges themselves when players exploit the game.
I kind of just gave up on Drug Wars today. Their one-year road map seems pretty cool but given their implosion by releasing the game when it was simply not ready and changing the dynamics so much, I am not really interested anymore. Actually, I would have quit weeks ago if the Next Colony was out and if they switched to future token immediately when they announced it. I just don't have enough fun with the game because there is really only one or two playing styles.

I'm still playing Drug Wars, but it isn't fun anymore. Hopefully someone will kill my army and then I will quit. I think you would be interested in Prospectors, because of it's free market economy, and there's over ten million dollars worth of tokens in the game for players to take out. Also EOS is great for gaming. Not too difficult to get an account. I made a new one for my daughter today. https://prospectors.io/

Wow! from what I just saw that looks sophisticated. Maybe I'll try it out. It's nice to hear you got your daighter on it. If she starts hodling now you won't have to pay for her college.

I kinda went kamikaze in drug wars today. Someone attacked my friend and I wiped out taking them down. They had a little left and I got someone to finish them. A fitting end. I don't want future tokens. They should be called nofuture.

To be honest though, I did enjoy drug wars for awhile. I never spend much on these games, just enough to keep a little interest, then I move on. I wish the day had 40+ hours in it.

I'm an economist, so I find this game fascinating. It won't be released for a couple of months, but there will be another alpha test release soon. They are doing an asset auction at the moment. I'm gonna try to buy a bunch of tools for $100. Sounds crazy, but should be very profitable. It would be great if you played this game. There will be unions, so we could work together. This game will be nothing like Drug Wars where it quickly runs out of STEEM. They have their own token, so the devs don't need to constantly sell stuff. Long term it will have it's own in-game governance with voting and a budget from taxation.

It seems like they are emulating the real gold rush by auctioning off equipment to the highest seller. I will take a look this weekend. Hopefully, I don't need to buy Eos to play yet or a minimal amount in anycase.

They're selling golden tickets right now to allow three days early access, but I don't think they will make much difference. Starting without any tools in the beginning might be a little slow and difficult, but you will be able to carry materials for other people to earn PGL, so it will be possible to play without spending anything and to start earning straight away. Of course you need to have an EOS account, which costs a few dollars.
