Steemit Archive Project: Chelsea Manning statement from Fort Leavenworth
During her six years in military prison, Chelsea Manning witnessed many bizarre, cruel and strange events. Not only were the initial stages of her detention considered "inhuman" and "degrading" by the UN Rapporteur on Torture, but apparently unknown, Arab-speaking agents had attempted to break Chelsea out of the Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility in Fort Leavenworth, Texas.
This is the only account he have of what may have happened at Fort Leavenworth, presumably killing several guards for a still unknown and unclear purpose. Chances of this story reaching the public en masse otherwise are impossibly slim, but here it is in perpetuity. I strongly suggest you read it in its entirety, as it is only 6 pages and tells an incredible story.
The document archived here is an official statement describing the attempted prison break from Chelsea Manning addressed to the Office of the Intelligence Community Inspector General dated October 17, 2016. (originally posted by The New York Times)
My summary of the Chelsea Manning case, Six Seconds to Midnight, can also be read here on Steemit.
