The Event: Jose, Maria and the Fujiwhara Effect
Will we see a rare event in the Atlantic on September 23rd?
As Jose moves on, we have Maria coming on strong in the Caribbean. Already devastating Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, Maria isn't done with her path of destruction. As mentioned in today's Suspicious 0bservers Daily News, there is a possibility that an X-Class Solar Flare could be released and push Maria westward and possibly put it on track to hit the east coast of the United States. If this were to happen on Saturday, when the sunspots come into view, it could lead to the possibility of even more destruction for Maria.
However, there is another thing that could happen on Saturday, September 23rd. Maria and Jose could create the Fujiwhara effect.
Fujiwhara effect is when two nearby cyclonic vortices orbit each other and close the distance between the circulations of their corresponding low-pressure areas. ~ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujiwhara_effect
What would happen is, they would be drawn in together to the point that they would merge and create a new storm.
Furthermore, the tropical cyclones seem to be more intense with higher geomagnetic activities.
Yesterday's Suspicious 0bservers Daily News had an article saying that cosmic rays from coronal holes can affect tropical cyclones. Well, we have a couple of coronal holes on the Sun right now and the effects on geomagnetic actives should start to be felt tomorrow. Could a geomagnetic storm increase the strength of Jose and Maria, which would increase the possibility that they would create the Fujiwhara effect?
All we can say for certain, that tomorrow's big event will either be very interesting or a complete dud.
But, it would be interesting if Jose and Maria did join together and create a new storm off the coast of Charleston, SC. Why? Well, that's where the Great American Eclipse path of totality ended. Would that be where Jose (Joseph) and Maria (Mary) would birth a new storm?
Wow...that would be something else. As much as I would be fascinated to witness something like that, I hope it does not happen for the sake of humanity.
The last two times it happened in the Atlantic, it didn't hurt anything. I'm not sure if Wilma absorbed Tropical Storm Alpha, before or after she did her damage. From what Wikipedia says, it happened afterwards. So, this would be the first at mid-Atlantic vs north Atlantic.
I'm rooting for the DUD.
But I am leaving my attitude open to all possible outcomes and praying the sun well keep its CME's pointed elsewhere.
