Hello Steemers since this is one of the first editions of a segment I'm calling Wicked world i guess i’ll let you know what it will be about. It’s pretty self explanatory but basically this segment will be about any kind of world issues that i believe should be brought to light. On this edition i’ve decided to talk about one of the most disgustingly evil things the Chinese Government is doing to its own people. I’m Talking about the Forced Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners.

Chinas Organ Transplant Statistics

China Currently Has the second most extensive organ transplant system in the world second only to the United States. In the year 1999 china only had 19 hospitals that were capable of performing organ transplants. In 2005 there were more than 500 hospitals doing these operations, an increase of more than 20x.

In the 20 yr period from 1979 to 1998 there were only 135 liver transplants performed in china with only 78 of those occurring in the 90’s. In the 6 yr period from 1999-2005 the number of liver transplants in china exploded to more than 14,000 which is an increase of 180x compared to the previous decade.

The average wait time to be matched with a compatible liver and begin operation is anywhere from 1-2 weeks with the fastest being done in 4 hrs. That is insanely fast when it comes to organ matching. The average wait time for a liver transplant in the U.S. is about 2-3 years.

To put this into perspective The Vice President of the United States Dick Cheney had to wait 2 yrs for a matching heart but if you have 150,000 dollars and a passport you can get this operation done in as little as 2 weeks in China.

Where do these organs come from?

In 2005 the World Health Organization held a Western Pacific Regional Conference in the Philippines.

At this conference Huang Jiefu, Deputy minister of chinas ministry of health admitted that chinas transplanted organs came mostly from death row inmates. However a few months later Chinas ministry of foreign affairs overturned Huangs statement so its hard to get a clear statement from the Chinese government.

Official numbers from China show that from the years 2000 to 2005 1616 inmates were executed but over 14,000 liver transplants were performed. So how did Chinese hospitals acquire the other 12,384 livers?

It is possible that these organs could have been donated from the public but investigation into the Red Cross organ donation system in China prove otherwise. Nanjing city in the Jiangsu province being one of the first cities to implement an organ donation system did not receive a single donation up to the year 2015.

Tianjin City Red Cross disclosed that there were only 170 organ donations from 2003-2015 and the Shanghai City Red Cross only had 5 donations in the same time period. The Chinese people believe that the body should remain intact even after death so you could see why these numbers are so low. Enter The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Falun Gong is a Chinese Spiritual Practice that combines meditation and exercise that is centered around a moral philosophy of compassion, truthfulnesss and forbearance.

The movement started in the spring of 1992 and in the beginning Falun Gong had Official sanction and the support of the Chinese government. However In 1999 Jiang Zemin the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and President of China began the persecution of Falun Gong by ordering for extra-judicial arrests of its practitioners.

Gao Yixi

On April 19th 2016 Gao Yixi (pictured above) a Falun Gong Practitioner in Mudanjian City Heilongjiang Province was illegally arrested and sent to the Yeanming Community Police Office. A few days later on April 30th his family members were notified of his death.

In a phone interview with Zhu Jiabin the Section Chief of the 610 office (AKA Chinas Gestapo) in Mudanjiang city openly admitted that Gao’s organs were taken and sold.

After being berated by the investigator over the phone over his participation in this crime which Zhu had no remorse over he then threatened the investigator by saying “i just told you, if you dare to stand in front of me i will take your organs too”. How can we help these people?

It’s hard to say this but theres not really much one can do. The Chinese Government has denied the organ harvesting allegations for a long time. Power factions within china have changed since this began and still nothing has been done by the Chinese Government to stop this atrocity.

It is more secretive now than before which makes it harder to get evidence that it is still happening but people keep disappearing and china still has organs to transplant so I'm sure it hasn't stopped. The only thing that could really be done is to raise awareness about this issue. Maybe if we bring this mainstream we can shame the Chinese Government into changing.
