THE CULTURE THAT CREATES A FUTURE
No matter how uncertain the future may look, with the power of vision we can determine how it's going to be. Having a vision is one, making it that vision a reality is another but one thing is certain, life has made provision for every person to have his dream come to fruition. Last night I was listening to Jim Rohn and in explaining how he became a millionaire by age 31 he said,
Don't wish for a better wind, the key is to wish for wisdom to set a better sail so that you can utilize every wind that blows to take you to where you want to go.
Life has not really changed much; the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer. Prizes are on the continually rise. Challenges are inevitable. Challenges are overcome by some whilst some fall victim. The Bible says,
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9 New International Version (NIV)
If a man is going to see a change in his life and future, he must first change. A man's achievement is the result of his personality; mindset, thoughts and attitudes. No one ever experienced a total turnaround in his life without first becoming a totally different person. If any person dreams of a better future, it has a prize tag and that is developing better thinking, better skills, better attitudes and a better mindset. All this put together, will birth a new culture; a new outlook of life, a new approach to given tasks and a new passion to have life goals met.
Three cultures I have found with almost every successful man or woman I have met
- The culture of reading.
- The culture of planning
- The culture of executing given tasks
Information is increasing by the split-second. It is those who are abreast with current knowledge that are in the top ranks in any field.
Planning, in my definition, is drawing a detailed action plan on how to apply lessons learnt to benefit yourself and others. It answers the question; "How am I going to do what?" and "When am I going to what?"
Executing given tasks is where most people have a problem. Jim Rohn said,
Whatever is easy to do, is easy not to do.
It takes discipline to do what you say you will do and to see to it that it has been done.
These cultures will create for you the future you want to see.
God bless!
