Before I start, I want to express my gratitude to everyone thatsupported me in steemit. You guys have been always commenting and reading my post; and I truly appreciate each comment and feedback. There are so many of you so I could only use @all
And to the steemians that are reading this, this post is meant to encourage you. Hope it helps. As I currently celebrate Rep 50, I'm aiming for rep 55, and then rep 60.

Recently, I've been doing a lot of Steemit promotion to my peers in WeChat lately. Talk about free marketing.
As long as the platform runs well, I will not mind helping Steemit to increase its demand.

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet and hopefully it inspires the newbies in Steemit to keep on Steeming.

I started out with 0

I want to make it clear that I did not invest any extra money on Steemit. All I did was using "rolling the income" method which is suitable for users who don't plan to draw out the money and just plan to reinvest whatever you earn. Whatever I earn in my account now is considered organic as in I did not invest extra cash.

It is best to post everyday, but because of my busy schedule I made myself to post at least 2 days once, so my advice to beginners climbing the rep ladder is...

"Post wherever you have the time because it is worth the sacrifice"

It takes a lot of effort and time to climb

You will start out earning only cents, which isn't much. It took me 5 months of active posting in Steemit to climb to this level. I wasn't even the most active one because I don't post every 4 hours; I was having other commitments such as work but wherever I have a day off, I will definitely post something.

" Steemit will put your perseverance to the test"

Steemit is not a Get Rich Scheme

Please do not expect to earn millions or thousands in a short amount of time.Don't be fooled by the post you've seen, those post with a high value usually are big players in Steemit. "Big players" here mean that they invest a lot in their account. Most of the high earners here commit their time and energy into every single post they made. The IT ones will be witness, the others attend events, always engaging with readers on Steemit, become delegators, curators and ect.
You may not earn a lot, but with persistence, constant interaction, and posting quality content, you can bring back a couple of hundreds in a month(at a higher rep).

"To earn is to work"

Find your niche

Keep in mind that you are not the only unique writer. This platform has all sorts of amateurs and professionals that share the same uniqueness or simply have bigger advantage because they are at the front of the game. Moreover, Steemit has exist for quite a while now and it is getting more popular as time goes by, so the competition is higher too. On the bright side if your content is unique, you will be a Shining Star; in contrary, if your content is not something new, you will just be any ordinary blogger.
DO NOT COPY PASTE!

"Always create value to others"

Love your audience

If you followed me from the start, you will notice that some of my posts don't look like the ones I write now. They were just plain wordings and probably doesn't have a content that is captivating enough. As time goes by, I learned a lot from other Steemians, I talked to them, I took up Coursera courses to improve my writing. I read more articles and kept practicing them. Now I interact with my readers and that manage to create a lot of satisfaction in blogging.
"Interaction is key"

Enjoy the process

Steemit is meant to be a social media platform where you can blog, create videos, create live videos. If you're already a blogger, you would enjoy this platform because you have been working hard trying to get traffic to your wordpress or blogspot anyway so why don't you just enjoy the whole process of writing in Steemit?

"Your writings need not be perfect"

So to sum it up, these are the Six Takeaways from this post

"Post wherever you have the time because it is worth the sacrifice"
" Steemit will put your perseverance to the test"
"To earn is to work"
"Always create value to others"
"Interaction is key"
"Your writings need not be perfect"

Hi, how do you find this post? Do you find it useful? Resteem to your friends so that they will keep steeming💪

But to this I would add:

Proofread. Nobody likes to read something full of typos.

Learn to format properly. Presentation counts.

Make it interesting. Ask yourself "Would I enjoy reading this?" (Why should some random stranger care about whatever you had to say? If you can't come up with a convincing answer, think again before pushing that "Post" button.)

Use decent grammar. Sharpen your language and composition skills. If what you've written is full of mistakes and doesn't make much sense to a native-language reader, it's not going to get you positive attention.

Do a little research if appropriate. You may not know everything about your topic, but you have the internet. Use it. Don't include errors in your information. Double-check your "facts." People need to be able to trust what you say. (Never, ever, ever steal someone else's work, however, and pass it off as your own.)

Don't post crap -- just because it's easy and you don't feel like making much effort. There's way too much crap on Steemit already. You don't even have to read a lot of posts every day (like I do) to know that from personal experience.

so true. speaking of these, I'm thinking of including a list of apps and programs that help me in my writing. Like Grammarly, Ginger , and other dictionarie apps. Thank a lot for your support. <3

Congrats on reaching 50 ‘the organic way’!

I think you’re giving some great tips here, although I agree with @enchantedspirit. The tips given in that comment are very important too.

true, i realised that recently some spammers have made their spam message longer instead of a simple sentence, they basically self promote like
" i thought to dropby and give you an upvote because of your content, don't forget to visit me too" and if you place this comment on a post where i'm giving out SBD for a answer, I get suspicious, like why are you not joining this competition and win some SBD instead?

@enchantedspirit help to add on some great tips in steemit! a detailed post in bound to post soon for sure! I made this blog post to encourage new steemians. We don't want them to give up so easily. Sometimes the first few weeks they wander around steemit without looking for proper communities that would help them, some are adjusting to a new schedule that Steemit has changed.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your comment.

I sidn’t want to take on your motivational post. We can never have too many of them. About a month ago, I didn’t really have a lot of time, so I thought I’d put up a short morivational post too. I didn’t even have any useful info, just ‘is Steemit not what you had excpected? You’re not alone, but together we can make it worl’, or something like that :0)

I don’t have the exact numbers, but I think about 75% of the new users quit in the first month. It’s only those that are very determined that make it through the first weeks.

That just fave me an idea: maybe a ciuple of us should create some kind of tutorial, 1 ‘lesson’ esch day for the first month. MOTivational posts, newbie tips, tutorials, links to useful sites, a posting schedule with ideas,...everything a newcomer can use to make it through those first weeks. Then, publish it as a Dbook, so it won’t disappear after 7 days...
I need to give this idea some brainstorming, I guess.
Thanks for handing it to me!

I do not mind contributing to the book idea you have, different people have different opinions too so most likely each writer will have a different way of climbing up the rep ladder. my way is a bit slow to be honest, i could have invest few hundred dollars first into steem just to start on a higher SP.

I also found out a friend of mine writing in steemit and wasn't doing very well(newbie, for 2 months and not consistent), he did wonder how I did it, and I just told him directly that, you gotta be persistent for at least 7 months! which can truly test a person!

I guess it is also the reason why only those who persist will stay in the game. Too many people think steemit is easy money and expect a high return after 1 post, I suggest them to treat it like blogger or wordpress(you don't get paid unless you have traffic) If they treat Steemit as a passion instead of a chore to earn a few bucks, the results would have been better.

Let me know when u want to are looking for ppl to contribute in the Dbook because I want to be a part of it too =)

The idea just popped up in my head when i was writing the comments, so I still need to think the idea through. But if I manage to make it into something concrete, I’ll know where to find you ;0)

I love it Reena! Indeed that is some sage advice that you are giving and congratulations on hitting the 50! You'll get there in 55 and then 60 and I will always be a fan!

Unless you start posting avocadoes :P

u don't like avocadoes?????? I just became a fan of them!!!!!! lol... love guacamole

No my goddesss!!!!! ahahahhaha

Thanks Reena K.

Initially I saw Steemit as a get rich fast scheme.
In the first few weeks I was actually frustrated, getting upvotes was actually very difficult.
Climbing the rep too wasn't entirely easy for me, I monitor my rep on the hour.

So Yes, Steemit really did put my perseverance to test.
I know my write-ups are not perfect...but I won't stop getting better at it.

Thanks @asiannetwork

share it to your friends that are new to steemit. it takes a while to climb, but after a certain momentum and after you build a reputation or a name for the ppl around you, leveling up won't be as hard as the beginning.

thanks for yr comment, I really appreciate it
