Douglasfir.jpg

We don’t know how to comprehend the patience required to pass 800 years. This Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) was already 130 years old when the Black Death was ravaging Europe around 1350. The Black Death was estimated to have killed 30–60% of Europe's total population and untold numbers elsewhere in the world where population statistics are harder to come by. It is estimated that the global population did not recover to 14th century pre plague heights until well into the 17th century. Wonder what the world will be like in 2817? CYPRUS AT SUNSET - TreeTuesday Challenge.
Cyprus trees thrive in the waters of Lake Marion, South Carolina. Spanish moss adds to their unique character and silhouette.

Looking good so far.

Just a little insight...
The ones that strike me in the comments (smaller images) I'll take to the next round and open up to look at larger and make final selections at that point. If you've followed or played @photogames you may have a better idea of what appeals to me.

Best of luck/skill. And hope you're having a good time.

Enjoying the sun setting behind these trees that are growing on this Rocky beach. Watered by the tide, these trees are just what was missing to create this stunning scenery!

Location: Darwin, Australia.

This frozen tree is my entry to the contest. When temperatures dropped pretty low in January 2017, the air was still humid enough to allow for some eyecatching frost outside.
The tree together with its chapel is standing on a local vineyard - I liked the scene as there was a storm looming to the left, while the sun tried to pretend that everything's alright :)

Thanks for those photocontests, it's not only a great way to discover other, great photographers, but also to discover some creativity in oneself.

Very nice, I like the composition and the sensation of emptiness in the landscape :)

Thanks for your feedback!
Quite the contrast to your image it seems, which radiates a good amount of warmth - I like it :)

I snapped this shot while on a hiking trail outside Medford, Oregon. The sun was moments away from dipping below the mountains. It was a beautiful thing to behold.

Beautiful. I just posted one while hiking in Klammath Falls, Oregon.

One day walking through the streets of Prague I found this curious tree, which with the imagination that I have seemed to me from the left side a person sitting and on the right side the tree has an annoying face in the center

There's a creepy burned out stand of trees about half way down the 1a just outside of banff. It's a fun place to shoot. One day I'd love to shoot it with people.

Trees without leaves have their own beauty and this particular tree has many faces through out the year, without leaves, fully green, with white flowers. I have grown up watching it. Sharing one with moon as a fruit ;)

When I saw that the contest was of trees, I thought it was wonderful, I like very much to photograph them in all their angles, it seems to me an issue that has not been properly taken advantage of for photography. This particular image I took on a splendid afternoon outside of Edinburgh, Scotland. I hope you like it.
