Here are some texture of the seabed with numerous pools on a beach in Portugal during low tide.

This shot always reminds me of an alligator. Water running back into the ocean at the beach. :)

Sand and Stars

Wow ~~ This. Is. EPIC ✨😆✨

Thank you, Carrie! :)

AND... he's back!! ; )

Yeah! I guess you could say I was away from nature for a while? :p

Hahaa :D
I love this idea... I'm really hoping you get these tutorials going! Other than sand dunes are there any other landscapes this technique works well for?

Good question. Hmn. Maybe some rock surfaces? Stones/pebbles on a seashore? Trees? Grass? Dunes are nice because they're usually naturally even and unchaotic, unless someone's been tramping over them since the last strong wind.

Yeah totally... we don't really have dunes like that here, not that I've seen yet anyway. I'd just like to have a play and was wondering what else you've had success with. : )

Thanks for the tips!

Oh - water is another good one for textures! :)

Really... okay... I'll keep that in mind. We're going away soon to a very isolated area. It's nice and dark out there, not a lot of open space where we'll be staying though, I've been thinking maybe we could go for a drive at night... just not sure about the wildlife out there though! But I'm going to have a bit of a play, either way. : )

I have been coming back to this Hawaiian reef for 40 years. I can explore the tide pools for hours and hours and be fascinated with every little nook. The early morning lighting expresses a delight of colors and textures. This is a tidal pool at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park. 82E719B7-17FE-4C93-9683-941FF9CECE6B.jpeg

This is the beach where I live. The photo was taken last December when there had been a lot of wind, combined with freezing.
This resulted in this view where you can see the texture of ice from the waves which were freezing on the beach. It gave a bit of an arctic view.

Isn't the variety of tree barks remarkable? This shot was taken in a park nearby with a Nikon D7000 (F/4, 1/60sec).

photocontest @shadalene,
This is a close up from a lilly leaf , the texture is so complicated , and pretty, it feels almost like velvet.
Mother nature makes fine art :)
