Lillies of the Frozen World: A Pour Painting
Lillies of the Frozen World
Acrylic on 8"x10" Canvas
June 2019
It's been a while since I pour my last acrylic pour painting. This is the first time in the year I spread paint on a canvas like this. I can say that I really missed it. But it's not always easy to go back to the things I used to do every moment of my life. It felt like it's my first time again.

Work in Progress Story:
As you can see in the video, I repeated the pouring for about 3 times because I can't get the texture and visuals that I wanted.
At first I thought the color and patterns were okay but the design slowly deteriorated so I repeat it all over using the same canvas. I scrapped all the paint and pour it onto one cup.
I tried another batch and the same thing happened. I was not contented. I pour white paint on it hoping it would be more acceptable for me. But after that, I, again l, was jot satisfied with the outcome.
The third pouring is a grace pouring for me. I mixed the paint residues with water because it got thicker and it might be not so flowing anymore. I added black and white on the mixture cup. And then.....pour it over again. The paint solution is just too over flowing but it got my eye and I thought that "This could be it" .
I added white flowers on the pour painting to give it a real subject.
PS. Now I am just waiting for the painting to be fully dried . I will show it on my next post !
Oh wow!!
That's gorgeous
I think if I tried that it would end up a terrible mess
It was satisfying to watch
Thank you for sharing your talent with us
And congratulations on the Curie vote :)
Thank you so much for your nice compliment!
I think it will be a beautiful mess for you :)
Guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😊
So very pretty, @aalagenesis.... Acrylic poured paintings can have that beautiful illusion of the forms are still alive, and this one has it :) I love the interaction between the colours, and the white lilies really blossom so well against that dark background, which made this so aptly titled <3
Gorgeous video of your process, too <3 and congrats for curie :D
PS. How did the Salamism event go? Was it a great success? :D I await your updates~
Thank you so much @veryspider ! I really love it too when they are like fighting each others space on the canvas haha
And the SALAMISIM I forgot to post about it ! Thank you for reminding me I will post it later specially for you <3

hi @aalagenesis
beautiful video, it is very significant to see you at work. I would be very curious to know when for an artist is the right time, or when does he see beauty in the art he is creating? it's so hard for me to understand it !!
congratulation and thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for appreciating my work especially the video.
I and my friends have talked about that issue before, of when to know when the artwork is finished or not. It's actually hard to tell for me and many of people that I know of.
It's like some people are satisfied with your artwork but you yourself is not contented.
Sometimes people see your work as unfinished but the artist actually finished it off
In more cases, artists might felt that it is finished but after some time, month or year, the artist will go back to that artwork and add more detail.
I guess no one can really tell if the artworks are absolutely finished or not.
All artworks for me are progressive and never ending
Gorgeous work. Love the color choices and your technique is fantastic. You have created an amazing surreal forest. Just a wonderful piece of art.
Love it. I am so glad you decided to share this with us:):):)
Thank you so much! I love your word : SURREAL FOREST, I think you just subtle suggested me another artwork theme <3 THANK YOU SO MUCH
Love to be part of the process:)
