Music Today Issue #8 | A SMA Community Initiative

In this 8th issue of Music Today, we discover and highlight five (5) amazing music posts from all over the Steemit community.

Music Today is a SMA Community Initiative aimed at making sure the time and effort Steemians passionate about music are recognized, rewarded, and given the feedback they deserve.

What is the Steem Music Alliance? (SMA)

The Steem Music Alliance (SMA) is a community-based network platform that connects musical creatives, as well as, music lovers. We offer the opportunity for people to engage, collaborate, and grow.

We are a dynamic, collaborative group of over 500+ members with the goal to help each other in the pursuit of reaching our potential and dreams.

With eight (8) contest and challenges supported by the SMA, we aim to provide the maximum recognition, feedback, and rewards to the amazing creators of music on this platform. Music Today is another one of those initiatives to help achieve this goal.

Our curators scoured the #music, #sma , and other music-related tags to find some incredible music-related content to showcase and highlight to the community.

All of these posts below were voted on by the @smacommunity trail which is comprised of souls who care about music and music-related content here on Steemit.

Wow what an absolutely immaculate cover from @melissakellie.

What a range your voice has (like at 1:09-1:21) and such depth in your vocals in this one so incredible.

Such an amazing example of what a cover is. Stay true to the original and add your own personal element to it. The Beatles would be proud :)

Melonious Thonk: 1930s Hip Hop!? The Earliest Rap Song) | by: @scuzzy

What an epic music history and music knowledge Steemit post from @scuzzy.

He attempts to answer the age-old question of who had the earliest rap song.

Hint: "Only '30's kids remember." :)

He goes through four different artists/movements that could claim the title of being hip-hop's earliest rap with settling one distinct rap in the end.

Love how much knowledge he shares about this history of hip-hop. His awesome brain is evident here as he shares insights and perspectives about rap that most may be unaware of.

Can't wait until the next Melonious Thonk post. This one got me hooked.

Holy smokes what a soothing song from @petrajordan.

Absolutely love the passion in your vocals (especially around 1:49-1:59 o my) and how it combines so well with that guitar and other instruments you include.

Appreciate how you let the instruments shine from 2:19-2:41 and then bring those incredible vocals to finish the song.

What an uplifting tune you created.

Wow what a talented bunch of souls.

Love how peaceful and uplifting this tune is. Your guitar playing with those vocals yess what talent you have.

"I'm gonna need some truth in a world that just don't seem right."

These lyrics and the rest you share are incredible and are so relatable to listeners.

I really enjoyed the authentic instruments from that banjo playing, that classy violin, and that smooth cello. Emilie's vocals are so passionate add such an nice element to your song.

So amazing you all came together to share this moment with the community. Much appreciation from a fellow Ohioan :)
