White Whales Jamm - La folle de Manhattan
Hello Steemit community !
It's make a good time that I didn't post one of our White Whale jamm !
The one of this week is the first time I played with the collective, in september last year, and it sound very cool !
Since the beginning with this improvisation band, it's always one tack ! We rarely play a song twice. If we do, it's only many weeks later and it sound of course really different !
This one is based on chords of the jazz standard Footprint and the lyrics are an improvisation on the theme of "The crazy women of Manhattan" (In french).
For a first time with the band, I found it extraordinary ! It was like a wonderful promise of sweet musical explorations to come and it still is ! The trumpeter and I enjoyed a lot this first one together !

Interesting, sounds familiar to jams I've played at in the past. I like the openness and conversational style of the instruments. The players are speaking as in conversation. Does this jamming happen often?
Every Friday in Montreal ! The band is collective, members switch every week dependently the disponibilities of each.
