Music Tutorial #23: Learn my NEW Method to Read Music! Note Attack & Say It

This is a Series of Short Videos on: How To Read Music Notes Fast - Beginners Level

Today's Lesson #23: Smart Practice Demo of Treble Clef 5 notes: E B F D G vs Traditional Slow Method

First half of the video: Smart practice with my method

  • In this video, I give you a demo of how to use my method of Note Attack & Say It
  • the first half of the video shows you how to look at the Notes and Say It
  • I am showing you how to use the visual recognition that you learned in the 3 previous videos
  • I say the Note out loud
  • And then you hear me saying the short phrase I say in my head (note that this is not memorization)
  • I tell you what goes on in my mind as I look at these notes
  • And once you do this about 10 times, you don't even need to say what is in your head
  • You just say the note

The Traditional Method

  • I also show you how the traditional method teaches with the acronym approach
  • You actually memorize the sentence
  • And then you identify the note by moving the order of lines
  • This method works but it is slow
  • It is not note recognition at all
  • It is following a sequence of letters in the sentence

My Read Music Method is unique in that I develop this method myself.

It is EZ and it is FAST and it is FUN!

This method will help you retain memory much longer when you identify the names of these notes.

It thrives in 2 areas to help people learn smartly:

  1. Visual Recognition

  2. Aural Memory in the Brain

I've tested this method in workshops and students and the results are often great. They get 90% correct in the first 7 days, so this is how I started developing this 7 Day program that you see in Level 2.

In this series of videos, I show you the method and how it works.

If you want a systematic program to get a complete training, then you continue to follow the daily videos.

Enjoy the video,
Rosa
