Musical Memories from my past.
It's been a little while since I last posted, so I figured I should pop in and post something! It's been a hard few months here and my internet time has almost disappeared and been replaced with some other important matters. We have a dear family member in the nursing home dying from cancer, along with getting the kids ready for the up coming school year, and unfortunately my mental issues are once again flaring up on me. I'm hoping that it's just the stress that is causing it but I'm not too hopeful that it will ebb anytime soon.
So here lately, I've been doing all I can to stay positive and think of the good times. And one of the most important pick me ups is of course music. I've been basically forcing myself to pick up my guitar more, in hopes that I can once again start being a good guitar player. I would love to eventually write more original stuff on my acoustic, but just doing some covers for now is good enough for me!
Another thing that makes me happy is looking at old pictures. Especially when there are so many of the music that has happened in my past. All the concerts I've been to, the shows I've played in various bands, and just hanging out with all of my very talented friends and making sweet music with them. That is why I decided to show some to you all as well!
The first ones I have for you are of some highlights of the great concerts that I've been to through the years.
This is me meeting Meegs at a Static-X show that @hangrydwarf, @jakeimnotshure, @johnbutler, and I went to. Meegs was the guitarist for Coal Chamber but was playing with a band called We Are The Riot. Along with him we met Mickey (drummer from Coal Chamber) and the rest of the band at their merch table. It was a fun show and if I remember right it was @johnbutler's birthday... So of course there was a lot of cheersing! ;)
Unfortunately only 3 months after this show, we learned that Wayne Static had passed. So that is one reason why this show was so important to me. Plus it was a great time with friends!
The next musical memory is a shot from my honeymoon when my husband took me to go see Alice In Chains. Now I know it wasn't the original AIC but it was amazing none the less. We got there early and found a great spot probably about three rows from the stage. I was able to get one of my favorite shots ever. It's not the best quality and I was definitely not using a good camera, but this was just one of those moments... when you see a music hero do what he does best!
This was one of the very few pictures that even came out that night, unfortunately. But at least I got this one and I got to check a box off my dream concert bucket list as well! There you have just a few of my precious musical memories. These are just a few of the amazing concerts that I have been to, and I hope to see many more in the future!

Hi Rockchickjen, sorry to hear about the sickness, hope you become good sooner, you are a talented musician, It's sometimes how life turns to loops which stop us from what we want to do, and I always struggle with it,
you really have great memories, mine was not that much cool :D
Wayne Static was one of the artists I loved him from a song "Cold" , it was a time in Iran, it was not easy to find rock or metal music everywhere, so It was just something unique for me

Ohhhh so your luck , I love coal chamber . We were actually listening to them at work the other week.... did a good job at keeping us motivated haha!
That it does! ;) It was just one of those chance things. We went to see Static and didn't know who the other bands were, then after they performed and we recognized them, boom... there they are sitting at their merch table drinking away! Haha!

Love Coal Chamber. I saw them years ago with Pantera @ Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver. Static X is cool also. I am so grounded when I play music, and Im frustrated cause I need to get back into playing too. Make it a point to play everyday even just for a short time. Youll get thru it! Sorry about your family member. Wishing you the best
Thanks dude! And I'm so jealous!!! We were going to try to see them when they started touring again but unfortunately that didn't last long... Haha! I'm forcing myself on the guitar as well. I know that once it becomes habit, I'll grow as a player and I really want that! So far, so good! ;)
