Welcome back again. 

I am going to talk about some news from Bring Me the Horizon. 

They dropped a new single named: MANTRA on August 21st this 2018. This song is produced by Oliver himself and Jordan Fish like most of the songs they have done. A lot of questions are around this new song. MANTRA seems to be a religion in this video, and how people follow this “GOD” but blindfolded. 

Oliver Sykes said in an interview:  

“This song came very late in the writing process because we wrote loads of cool stuff and loads of different things and every day we were like ‘What are we going to show people first?’ because we know how this works, we want to always change what we do and we always want to write something new to change it up, but we also don’t want to alienate everyone that’s joined us along the way and that’s supported us from the start.” ~ Oliver Sykes. 

From what I can analyze is that Oliver is trying to say that you can hear the words from a person and how they can make a change in yourself, but with music you can feel it a little more because with instruments and the voice of the singer you can feel even more the words from what they want you to hear.

And talking about the videoclip, I really enjoyed it. It had a lot of potential for a BMTH music video, even more of their other music videos. In this song you can see that it has a little bit of a pop rhythm too, and of course their unique type of music with Oliver screams. 

Sometimes I really like to use Genius to orientate myself to write about it, and most of the time I use the quotes that they put there. I really liked this one, and I thought that maybe I should put this one here. They asked Oliver if this is the representative song from the album: 

“Not really. “MANTRA” came a bit later. We wrote a lot of cool stuff, but we were kind of scared, like ‘What are we gonna show people first? We’re really proud of everything we’ve done, but how are we not going to completely alienate everybody when we show them this record? 

I actually had a little bit of a meltdown about it and then we ended up writing this song. It just felt right. It’s just different enough. It’s not safe, but it’s a bit of what you know and love about us while pushing it out there. It’s not that it’s not representative, but every song on the record is completely different. It’s a lot more experimental than our last record.” ~ Oliver Sykes, NME. 

NEW ALBUM | amo 

So, let’s talk about their new album that is going to be released this January 11. 

The artwork for the CD is really cool. 

And something that I want to put here is a tweet that I saw while I was looking through their profile: 

It is true. You can see how the CD is in a drug bag and that yellow label that has the medication warnings. (I saw it like a curiosity) 

I hope that they release the song titles ASAP, because I really want to see the song titles from this album.

Why amo? 

Oliver Sykes said:  

“amo is a love album that explores every aspect of that most powerful emotion. It deals with the good the bad and the ugly, and as a result we’ve created an album that’s more experimental, more varied, weird, and wonderful than anything we’ve done before.”  ~ Oliver Sykes

They did a really good job with the advertising campaign for “MANTRA”.

All of this was to promote their new single, and they did it well. So this is all that I got to say until they release their album.
