Useful Licks - Am arpeggio based lick - The importance of learning how to adapt musical phrases.

Hello Steemit!


So , today I have a short lesson with a lick that I find very useful to play when I want to bring some ''build up'' to a solo. There are a lot of lessons out there with titles like ''10 hottest licks'' , ''25 licks played by the best'' and all those type of best-seller titles that I don't agree much with.

While I do believe learning licks or lines is a way to learn vocabulary but I think much more important is to learn the musical concepts behind them to be able to adapt them to different musical situations. Eventually , if you learn the concepts around the lines you play you will end up writing your own and evolving your playing to a more personal place.

    maybe. ive always wanted to play piano but might be a waste as my fingers are incredible uncoordinated.. still m,aye i could master a simple song.
