Open Mic Week 40, Improv Jam and Introducing my 20k+ YouTube Subs to Steemit!

in #music7 years ago (edited)

Here's my loop jam entry for Open Mic Week 40, shared with my audience on YouTube via my backing tracks channel. I included a brief description of Steem/Steemit in the video description. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can improve it that would be very helpful. Enjoy!

I heard about you because you stopped by my recent post and I thought I would see what is going on over here...

Nice jam!

I tried to vote for you at the contest location, but you are not listed there.

FYI: According to the official rules, "openmic" must be one word in the title. In addition you may want to refer to other rules posted here:

It may not be too late to make the changes. You have a great entry, but they have stringent rules over there.

Good Luck!

Thanks a lot! I just tried to edit my post but unfortunately I couldn't change it to make 'openmic' the first tag. Apart from that I think my post now fits in with the rules. I didn't even realise before that it was an actual competition, I just saw a bunch of people uploading Open Mic Week 40 videos and thought I'd join in. At least I know for next week. Cheers for letting me know and hopefully they will enter my video regardless. Where can you see all the entries?

You can see all the entries here: https://steemit.com/openmic/@luzcypher/steemit-open-mic-40-record-your-performance-on-your-phone-enter-and-win-steem-sponsored-by-pfunk-and-luzcypher

In order to participate in the contest, amongst other requirements, your entry must be there. Furthermore, all the rules for entering the contest are specified on that page.

Your act is a winner IMHO, but the judges do go by the rules from my experience.

great! upvoted. I would just like to asked if there were any genre for the open mic? or a contest?

Thanks! I'm not sure really, I just saw a load of people were uploading videos for 'Open Mic Week 40" and decided to join in

Nice dude!, its great to have more musicians on board!, great improv jam!...

Thank you! Let the Steemit musician community grow!

HOLY SHIT!! You actually know how to do this? I would love to give critic feedback but honestly it was really good, that's my jam!

You should totally do more of this, also liked the cameras to show the whole process!

Please bring more of this, hope others will appreciate it as much as I did, that was so cool!

Thanks man! What a coincidence I was just reading your latest post! I'm hoping to do more, I borrowed the GoPro from a friend so hopefully I can keep it for a couple of weeks, I thought it would be an interesting way to film the process and I'm glad you agree.

I think it's the perfect way to show this kind of stuff, easy to follow and sounds good as well, almost getting dragged into the groove!

You making video with Go Pro on you head, whaaatttt?? :)

But anyways, like your stuff dude, got my like on youtube as well, keep doing good and great things will come !!!

Thanks buddy! Glad you liked it! I thought it would be an interesting experiment to try filming it with a GoPro and I think it turned out quite well in the end

Yeah def, just haven't seen that before here :) Maybe haven't seen that much yet on internet !
Next videos also with Go Pro? :)

I borrowed it from my friend so I'm hoping he doesn't need it back too soon or I can get enough up votes to buy my own!

See your point here. Good way of thinking.
Nice, looking forward to see next from you!
Keep it up, and have a good day.

Omg this is so cool man. Music is so cool when you can do stuff like this. The chill flow of the music sounds amazing. Great cam setup to. Great video!

Thanks! I'm hoping to post more like it soon, still a lot of different styles I can explore and different instruments that I can incorporate

np man it was truly amazing!

Great job man! lol

Smooth and captivating bro. It feels like those epic retro game soundtracks, where the main character is set on an unknown journey, a wandering warrior, traveling deep into the ruins, searching for his purpose in life.

So nostalgic bro. You gained a new follwer indeed. (•̀o•́)ง

Keep on Steemin'!

always welcome sir! :)
imma watch your other videos in a while. I love the chill and clean vibe it resonates.. ^_^

cool...very pink......floyd that is....i suppose its because of the sound on those keys. Fun looping...I look forward to hearing more.

Thanks! Floyd are one of my favs so definitely a big influence there

Ah, great to see you're using the Roland Gaia SH01! It's such an underrated synth but I don't know why!? That's the only thing I use for all my electronic music.

Sounds good, very atmospheric! Nice to see someone else from Norwich on here, what a coincidence, I bought that very Roland Gaia from PMT near Anglia Square! I like how expressive it is with the ability to add vibrato and pitch bend.
