The beauty of amanita muscaria (photos of yesterdays mushroom hunt)
We went on a mushroom hunt yesterday. We walked more than 10 kilometers and took many kilograms of lovely eatable mushrooms. I will share some pictures of them with you in a seperate post. Here I just want to share the adorable beauty of amanita muscaria. This mushroom you can prepare as an edible mushroom as well if you cook it in water several times and always refresh the water while doing this.
Gestern waren wir mal wieder auf Pilzjagd. Wir sind mehr als 10 kilometer durch den Wald gewandert und haben dabei viele Kilos leckerer Pilze gesammelt. Ich werde in einem späteren Post noch mehr Bilder von diesen Pilzen teilen. In diesem Post möchte ich einfach mal die liebliche Schönheit des Fliegenpilzes teilen. Man kann diesen Pilz übrigens auch als Speisepilz verwenden. Dafür muss man ihn mehrmals abkochen und das verwendete Wasser immer wieder abgiesen.

As you can see, they start to grow in huge numbers in German forests now. Some people think they are deadly poisonous which is not the case. Please respect this wonderful beings for they are precious to many of us.
Wie ihr sehen könnt, fangen die Kleinen jezt an in großer Zahl in deutschen Wäldern zu wachsen. Manche Leute glauben ja, dass sie tödlich giftig sind, aber das ist nicht der Fall. Bitte respektiert diese wundervollen Geschöpfe, denn sie sind für viele von uns sehr wertvoll.
You can also dry them and eat them. Their main psychedelic effect is that you get very sleepy after eating and have interesting dreams.
Man kann sie auch trocknen und dann essen. Die psychedelische Hauptwirkung des Pilzes sind eine große Schläfrigkeit und interessante Träume des Essers.
I hope you enjoyed this post and also feel some love for those fascinating creatures that are neather plant nor animal but very important for our ecosystem.
Ich hoffe euch hat dieser Post gefallen und dass ihr nun auch ein wenig Liebe für diese faszinierenden Kreaturen empfindet, die weder Pflanzen noch Tiere sind aber doch eine entscheidende Rolle in unserem Ökosystem spielen.
Danke für deinen Post @yoganarchista! Den Fliegenpilz konnte man bis vor einigen Jahrzehnten noch auf vielen Weihnachts- und Neujahrs-Grußkarten finden - er wurde sogar als Dekoration in den Weihnachtsbaum gehängt.... dies führt uns zum alten Fest der Wintersonnenwende, den Rauhnächten und der Wiedergeburt des Lichtes... Die "Alten"/"Elder" sammelten im Herbst die Fliegenpilze und in der tiefsten Nacht durften die "guten Kinder" (d.h. die, die guten Mutes waren und somit einen wundervollen lichthaften Flug erleben würden) die getrockneten Fliegenpilze essen :-) Auf den Grußkarten von damals sieht man den "Weihnachtsmann" mit roten Wangen und roter Nase.... hach wie viel es da zu schreiben gäbe lach upvoted, resteemed und folge dir mal als like-minded companion ;-) Grüße aus dem Siebengebirge
Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Kommentar :) Ich freue mich, dass es noch mehr leute gibt, die die Fliegenpilze lieben und sich dafür interessieren, warum wir in unserer Symbolsprache so viele Fliegenpilze nutzen, obwohl uns unsere Eltern schon als Kinder erzählen wie schrecklich giftig sie sein. Auch heute gibt es noch viele Grußkarten mit FLiegenpilzen, auch beim Bleigießen gibt es die Form eines Pilzchens mit Punkten, in vielen Geschäften gibt es eine Herbstdeko mit Fliegenpilz design. Wenn man die guten Kinder mal persönlich kennengelernt hat sieht man sie überall :) Ich schau auch gleich mal bei dir rein und folge dir schon aufgrund deines schönen Kommentars :)

They look beautiful. I've never had that kind of mushrooms but I've always wanted to try. Have you ever heard the story of how the figure of Santa Claus is based on shamans that would bring amanitas to people's homes for the Winter Solstice? They say that's where the color red he wears comes from. Great work!
It also connected to a lot more stories of christmas. For example the raindeers are feed with amanitas to drink the urin. Also wild raindeers like to eat this mushroom. Also the connection with the flight and the name of the mushroom. Also the way you look when eating it: You get a santa like face :D

How fun! Yes, thank you for demystifying the most famous of all mushrooms! I thought they were inedible, although i should've known better, since I see them so often in artworks with playful gnomes and fairies. 🍄
I think they still have a lot of mysteries to tell but I guess to get to know the gnomes and faries you need to have a personal meeting with the mushrooms ;D

Yes, I thought they were not edible. So I assume you have eaten them? How did you prepare them?
While drying the stomak-poisonous Ibotensäure tranformes to the psychoactive Muscimol. For drying a dehydrater is the best for in the oven they can easiely get burned and than they are not as effective and also they dont taste good then. You can also make sirup and wine with it and drink that but I have never tried that. Thank you for your comment <3
We have been taught since childhood that the fly agarics are poisonous, I teach them children. And I will not risk to cook them never.
Never cook any wild picked food if you not feel comfortable with it, otherwise you might just get a poisoning reaction because of your fear. The poison that is in the raw mushroom is water soluble. Still you need to cook it more than once and always change the water to make it edible without any effects. So other mushrooms need less preparations to eat them.
My sister already had mushroom poisoning. But they were edible, its possible that the mushrooms in the soup were old or reheated or something. And this happened on a wedding. She had to spent few days in hospital.
That sounds very bad. I hope she had a good recover. Yes poisoning can happen if the mushrooms are to old, also I read that there are people that have problems with some edible mushrooms.

I've seen them once here and I took them to an entheobotanist who dried them for me. Strange dreams is an understatement ⚡⚡⚡
