Not Answering Comments? Missing A HUGE Chance At Curation Earnings!

in #motivation6 years ago

Does every comment you answer get an upvote in return? No they don't. But ask yourself this? What is the point of spending time on a social site, if you're not going to be social? What's more! Maybe you would start "Being More Social" if you understood that you were missing out on cash by not doing so!

We Can Earn Cash By Answering On Top Of Leaving Comments?

That's what I'm trying to tell you! If you didn't already know, you can earn on comments you leave on other people's posts. Think of a comment you leave as your own little post. When others upvote your comment, you earn off that!

NOW consider this! When you answer a comment someone leaves on one of your posts, you just made another little post. The Steemian who left the comment may come back when they see it in the REPLY section on their profile page. Make an effort to provide a quality answer, and you may receive even more upvotes.

Not to mention, do you check everyone who leaves a comment? You never know unless you research them, who it is that's leaving you a comment. Their upvote may pack some strong value, and their following may be even more beneficial. Not likely to happen if you ignore them!

Check Your Replies And Answer Them

On your main profile, hit that REPLY tab and see who is commenting on your posts. Answer every time. You don't have to run on in the conversation (unless you want to). It's as easy as that!

Check Your Comments And See Your Earnings!

Open up that window by hitting the tab labeled COMMENTS in your profile. There you'll see all the comments you have left other people, as well as the answers you have left others on your own posts. Here you'll also see where people upvoted your comments, and how much they have earned.

Example Of Comments I've Left

Steemians Upvoted My Replies On Comments!

As you can see, these two comments did quite well! Many others got no love at all. That's okay. Those people had to move on. But spend a moment and give it some thought! If you get in the habit of answering all your comments, these will add up to a substantial amount over time.

The Largest Benefit To Answering Your Comments?

When someone takes the time to comment, you show them respect by answering back. My time is not worth more than yours! Returning respect is the beginning of a positive relationship. If you want to be successful here on Steemit, you better start building some!

People aren't going to magically find your posts and upvote them.Take it a step even further and support the people who regularly upvote your content! Because if they do better, and they keep upvoting you, then you do better!

I try to go out of my way to return comments to everyone that stops on my thread.
I noticed that Steemians can use a bit of a sarcastic push to entice a reply.
Have you seen this work for you in the past?

You know, stop by the profile of @apsu sometime. He calls people out with their short, negligent comments. The one's like, "Great story!" He will respond, "Oh yea, what did you like about it?" "Did you even read it?"

Lol. I have have not personally tried this technique, nor the sarcasm that was instilled in me from an early age. Not yet anyways.

For negative or sarcastic comments, I always thank them for taking the time to comment.

I haven't run into too much of that here. It's more the comments that prove they didn't really read a thing you wrote. And the upvote beggars.

Great post and I agree. Part of the reason I joined this community was obviously because making money whilst blogging sounded incredible, but also because I like the deeper feel of community here rather than a place like facebook where so much is small talk. I have already met some amazing people on here and am growing new friendships. I love it here and am just even more excited that I can get paid doing what I already enjoy doing!

Have you felt that shift from the other social site mentality? I still answer short comments with short responses. For the most part, Steemit encourages much more meaningful interactions between its users. Thanks for commenting and catch you @inalittlewhile. :)

I used to blog/journal daily on livejournal for about 13 years. It was a similar type of platform (minus the steem part!) and I LOVED it. I met some of my best friends on there and we all shared the ups and downs of our lives, the good and the bad. I've craved that kind of connection ever since that platform became fairly inactive, so this is what I've been waiting for!

Facebook/instagram/twitter and all that are harder for me because I don't do well at short and sweet and I dislike "small talk" so I think this is wonderful. Maybe because I'm old and a talkative person :)

I got into writing for a little bit on another platform. It has a ranking system for its members. I got tired of it quick. People can earn there if they create popular trainings, but lots of people think they'll get something just by having a high rank. It doesn't work that way and it becomes tiring to see all the time.

There's some of that here I can see, but most minnows seem to understand they have to work for what thet get. :)

People are wierd. I am seeing 15 views and no comments. With trails I have gotten 22 upvotes and only 3 views. But curious if this was non English speakers over night.....and u confused them? IDK

But I figured I better leave you a good comment! XD

I'll bet a bunch of those views were from me. Coming back to grab the link so I can share on other social sites.

I read and commented on your own blog last night. Now I know what Em3 means. If anyone wants to know, I'm not telling. Lol. They'll have to go and read your blog.

Catch you soon @em3. :)

Thanks @appreciator. Not just for helping me, but for all the support you give to the #steemitbloggers community. :)

Nice new word!

For the first month or so, I didn't notice the reply tab (much to my chagrin). Now I'm constantly checking it, for the reasons you stated. Thanks for shouting out about this - nicely done!

Yea that reply tab is very helpful. It's nice to check your comment tab from time to time as well.

Sometimes other Steemians will sweep by and upvote your comments on other people's posts. It's a nice surprise when you see that extra $$ on your comments.

Have a nice day @traciyork 😀

Oooo, wicked coolness @inalittlewhile! I'll definitely pay more attention now! 😀

Hope you have a nice day as well!

Wow. Really interesting information. Thank You.

You are welcome and welcome to Steemit. Got you on follow so I'll see your upcoming work. :)

This is great and I'm so glad you took the time to point it out! 🆙 and resteemed #steemitbloggers

Thanks @melinda010100. You are the best. I was hoping to spend today recharging my upvote power, but that fate was not to be. 🤣

I'll be seeing you around the #steemitbloggers community soon enough. Enjoy your day. Cheers!

It is always exciting and validating when someone appreciates your work or thoughts. Getting into conversations thru comments and replies is fun! Thanks for sharing your helpful thoughts. Very well said 😊

Hello @denisechips. You are right on the mark. Without that validation, it's boring and dull. We have the chance to create that excitement when we respond to comments. I have you followed. 😃

I have found that comments can earn more reviews (and at times UPvotes) more so than an original post.

I am a comment person and will prowl steemit starting conversations and carrying on with open-ended statements.

I had to laugh when I saw you used my comment in your post- thnx!

Hi @goldendawne. Maybe your name should have been nightpanther, or something more prowling sounding. :)

It's funny, I was re-reading the article right before I came to check your comment here. I was reminded that I used your reply as an example.

I should have pointed out that the $.02 cents was me, ^ voting you! Lol. You rock, have a wonderful day. 😉

Thnx @inalittlewhile !
Yeah I tend to stalk around ALL over steemit

thank you for the UPvote too!

Thanks for your comment.
