Preparation for Chinese New Year involves many things. Spring cleaning. Discarding the old and shopping for new stuff. My version of spring cleaning completion is the last step of cleaning the door and gate and then hanging up the Chinese New Year decorative scrolls. In the olden days, these will have been written on red paper. They still have traditional paper version but there’s are more variety from the factory including these fabric ones I have been buying.

农历新年的准备功夫可真多。大嫂做了大扫，弃旧，买新的东西。 我的大扫除算完成的时候是洗了大门，然后（如新年歌都有唱）挂上一对新对联。以前，对联是写在红纸上但现在那种是买少见少了。反而我买的布料的出自厂家的就甚多。
