All fired up!
Earlier this year the Kentucky Center for the Arts caught fire (somebody really didn't like that play!) and the lobby and a couple theatres were damaged. Fortunately the fire department was able to put the blaze out although some of the $18 million (USD) worth of art in the lobby might be a little worse for the wear. Since I hadn't been down to see it since the blaze I thought I would swing by and check it out while I was meandering around downtown a couple weeks ago.
My timing wasn't very good (I had been to and gotten kicked out of a protest first) so I didn't get to go inside but made do with wandering around the building. From the outside I really couldn't tell that much had been damaged but I did come across several sights that caught my eye.
The building's lines and reflections are quite interesting, I intend to go back soon and see if I can't explore it more thoroughly. Hopefully this time I can keep from causing a ruckus until after I'm done working...
Side note: Both shots are actually of the back side of the building

Awesome, thanks!
Ha! Work first, protest after! Love these photos!
Thanks! I was working! I'd went to see if there was a possibility for some news photos I might be able to sell. Instead I nearly got in a fight with a rather large gentleman who demanded my camera and that I delete my photos (he didn't have any luck) and accused of being a spy for a militia. It was a lively time...
Oh my! I have a friend who was a newspaper photographer in Madison, WI back in the late '70s and 80's and he has many if those kinds of stories to tell! Years ago he gave me a copy of The Photographers Bill of Rights to carry in my camera case, but I don't remember ever having a confrontation. Maybe that's why I like taking nature photos best! Birds and trees ignore me!
Ha, I bet he did! I've been in plenty of confrontations before but this was my first over my photography. I'm with you on that, nature is where I prefer to be, no pesky humans cluttering up my shots and the critters don't mind me a bit.
