Human looking through the window, my entry for the #monomad challenge
This is the first photo I've ever made in monochrome. I didn't appreciate this style before, because I thought "why sacrifice the beautiful colours?", but now I realise that this sacrifice is not in vain. Without the distraction of colours, it's easier to appreciate the contrasts (ie. the yingyangness of the ponytail over the white window), the way the lines and shapes form the image, and the pure glowing effect of the light. I'll probably experiment more with monochromes.
The photo was shot with a Sony a77 and a Tamron 17-50mm lens, set to 30mm, f/2.8, 1/320 seconds.,
