Up the Creek - MonochromeMonday Style
For @old-guy-photos #monochromemonday. Even though it is now Tuesday at his house, it's still Monday here! This is a very old photo of mine, one of my first digital shots. I thought it was awesome at the time, because it came in twelfth in a photo contest - for a calendar. I think that may be the only time coming in twelfth is good!
I've had this thing around for so long, the EXIF data has been lost somehow, but I remember most of the details. This was made wth a Canon G12, f/8.0, 4 seconds, ND filter, and whatever the lowest ISO was for that camera - probably 200.
The truth is, 4 seconds exposure is too long for something like this, it makes the shot a bit extreme... today I might shoot at 1/4 second. Going slower than that merely loses detail in the water. But this was made a long time ago. What did I know?
Here's the original version of the photo which was made at the Credit River, a little ways north of Toronto, Ontario, probably in 2011 or 2012.

The water captured that way is cool! Reminds me of the streaks of voltage in a plasma ball.
Thank you, glad you like it! Merry Christmas :)
