Monochrome Monday - Life by the Trian Tracks !!

in #monochromemonday6 years ago (edited)

I have always had a fascination for train lines and trains themselves yesterday i was out and about looking for graffiti art for the #aswcontest so i decided to walk along the train line hoping to find some graffiti art along the way but it turned out there was none to be seen so i figured while i am here walking the tracks i would have a bit of a play around with protographing train lines they always seem to make good photos.

Walking along a train line in Bangkok there is always a lot of interesting things to look at or happening with the locals like this old lady drying her chilies laid out on a blanket by the train lines.

Certainly the perfect spot to do it on the hot rocks with the sun streaming down on them chilies.

Then i had a visitor a casual dog walking towards me she must have smelt the treats i was carrying in my bag so yep i had to give her some.

See the treats just beside her front legs she seems well feed maybe she will save them for later.

I love the way everyone was going by doing there thing some locals working by the train tracks some just taking a walk and others just sitting by the tracks enjoying the sun and watching the day go by.

These are the views from me standing on the bridge looking at either side of the train bridge looking down at the Bangkok Canal.

One of the local guys that i got talking to said to me be careful standing in the middle of the tracks taking photos i asked him why would that be he said a train will be due any minute now to be coming through i thought ....wow....thanks this i was looking forward to not only have i got photos of the long parallel train lines but i was getting a bonus of seeing a old locomotive coming through.

Well he was not wrong the locals know and then i asked him were do these train head to he said up north of Thailand maybe 500 to 600 kilometers away , it would definitely be a slow trip on these old trains the local said up to 18 hours to get to the north of Thailand not a comfortable ride but was affordable and suited for the lower class people of Thailand it would certainly be a ideal way to see the country side of Thailand that's for sure.

Very excited to have seen and experience the life by the train tracks i then walked of through the local suburban area and found the Bangkok canal were all the graffiti was suppose to be and ended up a successful day.

Thank you Sir :)

Well, as usual, you take a challenge and give it 100% of your effort. This was most wonderful and yes! There is something so cool about old train tracks and the people that seem to congregate down there for one reason or other.

I love the low angles used and honestly, the mono gives it a very gritty, earthy kind of look, especially making the scene feel like I am in it. The dog just adds that extra ingredient that humanizes this post.

Wonderful work, as always and wow! Great shots!

Thank you so much my friend i actually ended up on the train tracks by accident walking around in local areas it's not like back home you think to yourself if i take a left here i should end up over the other side of this block but over here it doesn't work that way the stories i can tell you in the 8 hours i spend wondering around the local Thai areas yesterday i could write a book on it , in what i saw and the people i met in that 8 hour walk. It always starts of oh...i will just go by the river take a couple of photos come home and post it , no it never happens for me i get lost amongst the locals end chating to everyone and come home with a thousand photos.

I have never tried low angle photography i picked it up from @axeman talking about lines so i decided to try it yesterday and he is right follow the lines and it will make you feel like you are in the picture.

Yesterday was one of the most amazing days i have had in Bangkok actually they are all amazing but this one was just extra super :)

And thank you so much for your Tip and Resteem :)

It's funny you should say that because the lines are my favorite and I love doing them

Well you going to be seeing a lot more lines from me now...hehe :)

Excellent! But don't stop there! Do some tilted at an odd angle, different levels of low... Shoot down, shoot up. Well, okay. Don't shoot up, but, let the camera shoot up. ;)

Thank you for your suggestions my friend i will certainly try all that and we will see who gets the head spin first me or the camera ...lol :)

I am totally going with you getting there first! :)

Nice to hear you are grabbing and adopting new ideas! Rails are just perfect for low angle compositions

Thank you @axeman you are a good teacher :)

These are excellent shots and you're lucky. I've been planning to do a photo shoot about trains, railways but not luck yet.

This was not planned but taking the wrong turn on my Sunday walk lead me to these tracks so i thought i am here now lets have a bit of a play around with low angle shots and i quite enjoyed it i have never done this before :)
